Yes. It is amazing.

But many non-identity-changing people go out of their way to be obtuse, mean-spirited, disrespectful, and offensive. In retrospect, I've made a few remarks I'm not particularly proud of.....but nothing compared to what one reads every day.

It really has and continues to damage the credibility of the community.

From time to time I've wondered if the answer is to require full names. People might behave better. It would be an administrative nightmare.

Don't know. I know the good stuff that used to be here is not so prevalent anymore, and I reason it's due to actual insiders being put off by the bad behavior.

I especially do not like threads being "orphaned". If users need to go, lock so they can only post in the "dungeon" going forward.

It's MW's call and I totally understand why he doesnt wanna be a babysitter. He must have spent tons of time putting the site together, and incurred a bunch of costs keeping it going.

But there are not many things that will bring bmw, TC Talks, Matt, myself, et al, unanimously together. This is indeed LL who he has chosen to ban at least 10 times. His/her/its goal has always been to scream its viewpoints and could care less to contribute anything positive to the site.
