This got me curious. There's a long interview with Cowboy about Cowboy at the 1:32 mark (first hour, 32 minutes in). In general, it's very respectful, although when Cowboy goes off on one of his date recitation tangents, the people in the studio really crack up.

It's been a long time since I heard Cowboy. Even well before Ron died, since Ron's last stop didn't have a toll-free number for him. Those long-distance calls can be pricey.

CowChip was a complete clown with those ridiculous uncle and date references and yes if he had to spend a dime on a phone call he was out. Complete loser.
Now lets move on to some exciting news. Big Jake Rogers is rolling right along this year. .148 batting average, .262 slugging percentage, and 22 strikeouts in 61 plate appearances. Lifetime average now sits at .197 He did however receive some encouraging news; a bird sanctuary in the Upper Yukon Territory asked him if he'd be willing to raise a baby orphan wren in his moustache. He's giving it some careful thought. And good ole Ron thought the world of the guy.

I did not know about Mr Scott prior to Ron’s interview but found him to be insightful as best he could with Ron’s questions and would try to keep the ship straight as Ron would venture into other areas, and many may remember the “JFK” story

I used to enjoy emailing my weekly leading questions to Ron, feigning igorance on a certain subject, just to get Ron to reach into his bag of retread stories about the Basin League, Bea Arthur, or his deciding vote on the three ball two strike rule in the Catholic League. And of course, whenever Ray was on, I would email something like........."Hey Ron, Someone once told me that you and Ray had some connection to the JFK assasination. Is that true?" And off he'd go.
Heard Doug Karsch today mention Roger Faulkner, how he used to have him on a lot & would like to get his input now. Imagine Ron getting Roger on now & being the envy of others in local sports media.

And then he would have asked Roger what the red card meant.
Tigers select someone named "Cameron Flukey" as their first pick in this year's draft.
Someone—Mr. Positive, Kurt, Ron—would have had fun with that name, some kind of awkward, groan-inducing comment like "Let's hope that this Cameron is no fluke."
