This week I re-read A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens, and watched the 1951 movie version of the story. There's one line in the story that always reminds me of Ron.

It's when the Ghost of Christmas Present says:

You have never seen the like of me before!

Whenever I'm asked who's replaced Ron on the radio, I always say there's no replacing the sui generis Ron.

Yes, the once regular JJ from Trenton, a former high school swimmer who, though oft-lamenting the loss of his long gone swimmer’s body, had a hero’s worship for the exploits of professional athletes & thought Ron was the bee’s knees. And always with the conversational tics.

Thanks, Bobbert for posting Ron’s 2016 Cameron family Christmas spectacular. I might be mistaken, but I’m thinking this might have been the one featuring Claudine Longet fresh after serving her manslaughter conviction for the killing of her lover, Spider Sabich.

Glad to do it. It was a fairly typical show which brought back some interesting memories of different people. Ron's pop culture references to Zsa Zsa Gabor and Tommy Roe were entertaining.

Every time I think of Ron and Christmas, I remember him dipping into the host station's music library to play this song:

Mr. Positive frequently calls in to Jody Mac’s show on Sundays (outside of football season) talking about Scotty Scheffler.

I drove by Denny’s on Rawsonville Road yesterday and noticed no cars in the lot and no lights on inside. I didn’t go up and see if it was just a power outage or a permanent closure, but if it’s the latter I hope Al is OK.

Al's probably getting together with Derek Lalonde to discuss life after getting fired from a sports management job that they never should have been hired for.

Charlie beat the Cameron Curse by about 2 1/2 years.

Always enjoyed his talks with Ron—lot of energy and enthusiasm, especially for his age.
