You can turn things around quick with NIL these days. Look at Indiana. But it needs to be used wisely. Underwood, supposedly, is one of the highest paid player in college.

Penn State is absolute trash. If Michigan loses to them Underwood has to be benched and Wittingham needs to go. I don’t care if it’s in the middle of his first season, his coaching has been abysmal.

So UofM legitimately should have likely lost to Western?

Problem is, Michigan always seems to be getting a finger pointed at them. I would hope with everything else THIS would be on the straight and narrow, no questions.

Collegiate NIL agreements need to have a performance clause in their contracts such that how much you get paid depends, at least in part, on how well you perform with each game. If you play like shit, you get paid the bare minimum.

Most Heisman winners seem to flame out in the NFL so why not emulate that as a 5 star recruit along with the pay?

I can't remember.
:rollin I can remember a bunch of MSU 0-2 starts.....

:(
I didn't plan to go there. :blink It's literally all on YouTube. I get fed tons of recommended videos with John L Smith and Bobby Williams. I would feel bad for you, but then I think about Spartan Bob. At that point, the empathy leaves the room. :lol
People always remember the last second....and I won't argue that it was sketchy.....but forget this happened on that same drive:

On 1st and 10, Smoker was sacked again by the Wolverine defense[12] and immediately used MSU's final timeout. During the timeout, the officials huddled and flagged Michigan for illegal participation for having 12 men on the field during the previous play. The referees incorrectly counted the down on the play, and also marked off the penalty from the spot of the sack (the 24) instead of the line of scrimmage (the 18), making it 2nd down and 4 yards to go from the 12 yard line, instead of 1st down and 1 yard to go from the 9 yard line.[10][11][12] After an incompletion on the resulting 2nd down play,[11] LeSueur broke up a 3rd down pass intended for Ziehl Kavanaght in the end zone to bring up 4th down.[11][12] Facing 4th and 4, Smoker completed a slant up the middle to Duckett for 8 yards that resulted in a first and goal on the Michigan 3 yard line.[10][11][12]

If called correctly, MSU has an additional timeout, and probably more time on the clock also.
A lot of Michigan penalties on that final drive on Nov, 3, 2001 and Kalamazoo Native TJ Duckett ran wild on Michigan's D that day, Kalamazoo Central couldn't beat Loy Norrix when Duckett was playing for them when I was in High School at K-Central 0-4 crosstown rivals. Was there really a Spartan Bob or was that made up by Michigan upset about the loss?

Tommy Carr should be starter over Underwood now and Beck needs to change things up as well. The Little Brown Jug will always be a Michigan fan even know it's in Minn hands until they face Michigan again it will return to Ann Arbor. Congrats Minn on beating Michigan today outside of Michigan & MSU I'll always root for Minn.

He makes valid points. Multiple postings I've read since last evening indicate Beck is using the same scheme design he used in Utah, which is definitely a bad thing since the strengths of his former players in Utah differ from the strengths of his current players in Ann Arbor. That is just utter laziness on Beck's part, and shame on Whittingham for accepting that approach.

Scheme aside, Underwood makes poor decisions when his primary receiver is well covered and is not reliable in high leverage situations. Throwing the ball into no man's land on 4th & 5 yesterday is inexcusable.

At any rate, this is a great time to have a bye. Beck and the offensive design have been brutal. You need to be able to consistently run the ball north and south at Michigan.

I was watching the MSU mess and Bama game so I didn't see much of UM. But weren't Minny loading up against the run like Iowa was? Teams know Underwoods tendencies on first read and that he makes poor decisions. Force him to beat you in the air. Every team will do that until he shows he can.
