Michigan should've kicked that FG in the 1ST half where Underwood was short going for the leap and being denied on 4TH & short UGH.

Matt, you're about the only Michigan fan from whom I've read comments tonight blaming officiating for the loss. Inability to convert on a 1st & goal, stupid play calling on a 3rd & 5 in the late 4th quarter, missed INT opportunities on Iowa's last drive, and especially Zeke Berry's inexcusably stupid penalty are the main reasons Michigan lost.
Bad officiating goes both ways. Michigan got away with a clear defensive holding or P.I. penalty (I'm unsure if the ball was already in the air) right after the Berry penalty.
I agree with MCRF to a degree; given total time of possession and total yardage, Michigan should've been able to score more than 19 for the game. Not sure I'd call them frauds, though. Expectations weren't particularly high for this season.
Michigan did make critical mistakes at bad times, but Iowa was absolutely gifted that second TD when the receiver was way out of bounds and came back in and caught a ball tipped by his own teammate. That was extremely consequential.

The Iowa receiver was pushed out of bounds by a Michigan defender. He also wasn't the first to touch the ball. The ruling was absolutely correct.
Michigan shot themselves in the foot...repeatedly.

If anyone wants to really see officiating malfeasance, watch the MSU game. At least three completely inexplainable calls, all going against the Spartans. Add in serious injuries, 2 to our best offensive and defensive players, and yesterday was a true disaster. Team played hard, but with the attrition now, it's gonna be a loooooong season.
Best player in college football: Kamario Taylor, Mississippi State.

Work on some more upset specials picking teams that lose by 4 td's.
