I would guess that part of the GM slide is that one of the Buick SUV's is built in China and shipped here.
That would be the Envision. GM doesn’t do that to be assholes to Americans of course… they do that because Buick’s main market these days is China and that SUV is a hotter seller there.

The United States’ top health agent announces it will cut 10,000 jobs as part of a major restructuring plan.
That’s over a quarter of the HHS workforce.
MarketWatch:
U.S. jobless-benefits claims not reflecting a significant ‘DOGE’ surge.
Fourth-quarter U.S. economic growth rate revised upward, but Q1 looks less rosy.
The rate was revised from +2.3% up to +2.4% but with everything going on it’s not likely to be able to do that again.
Politico:
The White House has pulled Rep. Elise Stefanik’s nomination to be United Nations ambassador over concerns about the House’s narrow GOP majority.
I see them everywhere. A friend has a new one and a used one. They are pretty nice. Smooth ride and he and his wife love them.
On another subject, I fully believe Trump will use military force to take Greenland. What is his obsession with that? They want no part of being part of the US. Just like Canada wants no part of it.
Emboldened by the Trump administration’s split with Europe, Russian President Vladimir Putin may be preparing to directly test the resolve of the postwar Western military alliance.
In an interview with German business daily Handelsblatt, the chairman of European aerospace and defense group Airbus warned the continent needs to arm itself now that it’s likely the United States will not honor its obligations under NATO’s Article 5 common defense clause.
“There are strong indications that Russia is preparing an attack on NATO’s eastern flank,” René Obermann told the newspaper on Monday, adding that Putin will not likely wait until Europe has enough time to build up its own sovereign capabilities for deterrence before striking.
“Putin sees NATO as increasingly weakened, because Trump’s solidarity with Europe is shaky, to put it politely,” he said.
Obermann argues the Russian dictator has placed his country’s economy on a wartime footing with a fiscally unsustainable 10% of gross domestic product diverted to its military, according to Obermann. That’s five times the NATO minimum target, and Putin also plans to mobilize 1.5 million soldiers—the world’s second largest standing army after China.

Ever since news broke on Monday that top Trump officials discussed US military attack plans in a group chat that inadvertently included a journalist, Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth has projected unflinching confidence.
“I know exactly what I’m doing,” Hegseth told reporters Tuesday.
By Wednesday, however, other defense officials were increasingly skeptical of that, especially after The Atlantic magazine revealed the details that Hegseth shared in the Signal chat about the pending strike on Houthi rebels in Yemen, including the timing and types of aircraft.
“It is safe to say that anybody in uniform would be court-martialed for this,” a defense official told CNN. “My most junior analysts know not to do this.”
National Security Adviser Mike Waltz has been criticized for inviting Atlantic editor Jeffrey Goldberg into the chat. And CIA director John Ratcliffe and Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard, both of whom were on the Signal chat, were grilled over two days of Congressional testimony.
But former national security and intelligence officials say it’s Hegseth who looks particularly bad given the level of detail he shared.
“The egregious actor here is Hegseth,” said one former senior intelligence official. “He’s in the bullseye now because he puts all this out on a Signal chat.”
Interviews with multiple current and former national security officials this week, including career military and civilian officials, reflect growing concerns about Hegseth’s leadership at the Pentagon
Before long you’ll be driving a 3,000 pound death trap with no seatbelts or airbags that gets 6 miles a gallon and getting hitched to a tradwife just to stay out of the way of the lunatics. Patriotic duty you know.

Greenland is part of Denmark, Denmark is part of NATO. If Trump is dumb enough to use military force to take Greenland, it would trigger an Article 5 response from the rest of NATO, which would mean all hell breaking loose.
I would like to think that most Congressional Republicans would think this is a really, really bad idea, no matter how far up Trump's polyp-ridden ass they might otherwise be.
