It's a question of loyalty with Karsch. You wouldn't have heard Bob Ufer doing MSU games, or worse...doing Ohio State Games.

I like Dan. He is passionate about Detroit Sports and Dan was not even born in Michigan.

he grew up a Michigan fan, his parents were (are) professors at U-M
and was the 1st to say his grades couldn't get him in U-M, but could get him into MSU.....

In principle, I agree.

But he's able to pull it off, I think because most of the time he sounds like a reporter, except when he's getting very excited during a football broadcast. His experience with national broadcasts in the 1990s probably helps prevent him from sounding like an extreme homer.

He’s terrible as a PBP man. Combine him with Lomas Brown adding absolutely nothing and it’s a painful listen.
