Another possibility is he wants out of the neighborhood. He is across the street and 3 doors down from 850 Briarcliff , the former University Liggett Middle School.
Google up "Legacy Oaks Grosse Pointe" , Joe Laquiere, John Laquiere, "Raising Godly Tomatoes" . If you find this stuff interesting the rabbit holes are numerous.
It seems very possible some rather bizarre people and shit goes on in that building.
