This is a big, big win for 99.5 WYCD. They have a shot at being a perennial top 3 finisher in A25 to 54 and the (rather useless) 6+ numbers now.

Three Christian programming stations on full power FM signals above 92 MHz is obnoxious, I must admit, especially with 2 of 3 originating no programming of any local origin.
I was just thinking that. 93.1, 102.7 and 103.5. That doesn't include translators or 88-92 frequencies. I guess it's either that or played out corporate formats.

Maybe Relevant Radio will buy WXYT 1270 next.

This is how the AM band marked its decline, the religious broadcasters piled in one after another as corporate radio sought to put its money elsewhere.

They appear to still be jockless as of this time, will they continue to stream county or will the change occur soon?

As always feel bad for the staff, and the changes that came there way

Shows you how far radio has fallen when three commercial FMs in a major market are religious.

This is ridiculous! Terrible news. They cant go after translator stations, they go after a full Power commercial stations? What the F.....
While I'm not a H*** country listener.... I'd rather have that than ANOTHER Religious station. Will there be more changes on the dial this year? Don't see another country station popping up any time soon, unless Beasley moves the Bounce to the Detroit Praise Network translators, and launch a country station on 105.1? They wouldn't touch their other stations that's a given.
Sad to see this happen.
I noticed too that they haven't been on air as usual this morning. Is the sale finalized or is it pending? Usually it takes months to be approved not so?

LOL, people on this site spent 10 years ripping this station down for literally anything and everything. Now, suddenly we're bemoaning its downfall? Some of you people should be dancing in the streets, the way you hated on this simply for existing.

The Bounce isn't going anywhere, they generally have very good 25/54 numbers.
We won't see another country station anytime soon for the same reason WRIF hasn't had true rock competition in years: It takes time, money and patience to compete against a heritage giant like WYCD or WRIF.
David Corey has made a mess of WDVD as well. Be interesting to see what happens there.
