Nope. English and marketing degrees. Then the good ol Mississippi state BS certificate.
Good grief, I forgot about that mess. I think that is correct, now that you mention it.
She has a brilliant on-air presence, and she's no dummy. But that isn't the point. A broadcast meteorology degree is a diploma on competently using a chroma key, not in any way what a bachelor's of science student undergoes nor the knowledge gained thereof.Baracy was the chief meteorologist at the #1 news station in a significant TV market. She might be better at this than you think. There are plenty of on-air weathercasters with degrees from MS State who do a good job, and yes, there are some who aren't very good, too.
I'm not sure what the story was with Andrew's predictions. I don't disagree, it seems his forecasts always discounted possibilities and edge cases and "the possibility of rain" always seemed to turn into a weekend of non-stop rain. How the hell do you whiff on that, repeatedly?Andrew Humphrey has degrees from U-M and MIT (!!!) yet his accuracy was mid pack at best.
I do see Ron is not yet a degreed meteorologist and is currently enrolled at MS State. I suspect he'll be working weekends.

Started on air at a class A FM in Monroe, then to WCZY. Landed in DFW quite a long time ago.
Did Ashley like to wear some adorable "F*ck Me" dresses while on the air when she was with WDIV back then?Rate This wrote: ↑Tue Dec 27, 2022 11:11 am Ashlee Baracy is back from Columbus.
Ron Hilliard is coming over from WEYI/WSMH Flint/Saginaw.
Both start after the 1st and their roles will be announced then.

Intentional, I just left off the "not the first time that's happened", which definitely made my reply "wtf is this guy talking about" material.Rate This wrote: ↑Wed Dec 28, 2022 10:26 amWas that intentional or accidental on your part?SolidGoldDancers wrote: ↑Wed Dec 28, 2022 10:02 amhttps://www.cbsnews.com/dfw/personality/doug-dunbar/whitebalance wrote: ↑Wed Dec 28, 2022 9:52 am Then we have Fox making DJ 's into morning news anchors.

Making DJs into news anchors doesn't always have to turn out badly.
