Listened again today and noticed a theme; all female artists for half an hour and then two songs geared towards females, Bruno Mars and Jason Miraz.

I do remember this.

I also remember this station or another running the ad "Turn on the Lite..." and someone pulled the cord for the light. I think it aired during the Tigers games.
That was WLTI.

I am sure former PD Rick Gillette would disagree. During an FCC inspection, he was asked by the inspector "Why are we not hearing the call letters?" Gillette told him, "Because they suck. When I first got here, we had bumper stickers that almost said "White Power" on them!" :rollin

They should have stuck with Planet. It's a good brand name. "Whyt Power" on a bumper sticker, or the acronym for Digital Video Disc, is not thinking things all the way through.
Are you shitting me?! Ahahahahahahaha I knew WHYT sounded like "white" but I never thought of the Power connection 😆
That's the way it went down. It was those ugly Power 96 bumper stickers, white, with the red lettering. And on the hit lists, handed out at Harmony House. :lol

Gillette buried the Legal I.D. in the middle of the :52 stop set. It was a quick, low modulated "WHYT Detroit" voiced by Casey Kasem. The station was simply "96.3" at that point.

I remember working at Farmer Jack in 99 and seeing one of those stickers on the light pole. I always thought it was some fringe kook who was running for president in 1996. Thanks for clearing that up.

Ah, interesting, like the original branding of 93.1 DRQ! "93-1 The New DRQ: Detroit's Station For Women"

I figured you all would think this is either stupid or cool.. I did a little arts and crafts project with my Android device. A long time ago, WinAMP stripped many of the album art from my MP3 collection. I didn't like the album art it replaced it with so I made my own art. Looks legit!

If I were DVD, I would run with it. However, most of their music trends 2000 and later. If they wanted to go with 1990-today, it would be perfect.

Who the heck even uses DVD players anymore?
Beat me to it. Exactly, I ditched all my DVD's and the 2 players I had long ago. It's Roku and Youtube TV for me. WDVD sounds so 2004. They could bring back Mr. Planet j/k :lol

Wouldn't mind seeing 96.3 flip to Jack-FM
