I also remember this station or another running the ad "Turn on the Lite..." and someone pulled the cord for the light. I think it aired during the Tigers games.

They should have stuck with Planet. It's a good brand name. "Whyt Power" on a bumper sticker, or the acronym for Digital Video Disc, is not thinking things all the way through.

That's the way it went down. It was those ugly Power 96 bumper stickers, white, with the red lettering. And on the hit lists, handed out at Harmony House.

Gillette buried the Legal I.D. in the middle of the :52 stop set. It was a quick, low modulated "WHYT Detroit" voiced by Casey Kasem. The station was simply "96.3" at that point.
