Wasn't she over 65? Let some younger person get that money. She probably made 5 times what her replacement will make. She should have a lot of money saved up. She was on the old school media pay scale.

Roberta was nearing retirement, was well paid and likely given a fair severance. She will be fine.

I liked her "here's what's going on around town" segment too. Roberta was Detroit radio.

Whatever happened to Age Discrimination being against the law? If she doesn't get a golden parachute, she should consider doing something about it. If WJR was smart, they would hire her. Probably a non compete in her contract though. Maybe settle for a big golden parachute otherwise, and a longer noncompete.
They don't care if you're 68, they just don't want to pay what a veteran broadcaster makes at the top third of their career. Radio continues to go to great pains to build listener relationships and familiarity with the talent, only to tear it all down once it costs too much.

Always hard for me to listen to. Voice always seemed to have an overly sugary vibe to it. Best of luck to her though.

I recommend that our Buzzboard members hereafter refer to Audacy as "Audacity," They have earned that buzz-name by their callous disregard for their professional veterans and their families. Can I get a second?

Great! I could take back the bottles and cans in my garage and own the company!

Jesus tap dancing Christ. I know we love our unfettered capitalism, but can we PLEASE go back to 1 FM/1 AM/ 1 TV now? 5 companies own everything and they're just destroying everything.

Could be a value pick, or good for day trading at least for a while. It was as low as .58 and closed a shade over .60

This is what happens when corporate fat fucks control both major parties.
