Fuck it, let me try it:
- 107.5 will still be playing the same shit as they are now
- 93.1 either limps along or gets blown up
- Someone is leaving 96.3, 106.7, and 104.3. Your guess is as good as mine
- 105.1 goes on life-support
- WWJ finally goes on 98.7 (fuck I hope this happens)
- All the other stations won't do a goddamn thing, as usual

Also, fuck Charles Pugh.

100% percent. I guess if you have no one interested, may as well though I guess. You know the old saying, "There is no such thing as bad publicity."

I don’t know why I’m doing this, but here it goes:

At least 2 Detroit AM stations go off the air permanently.

There will be an unexpected, major talent blood-letting, resulting in said Detroit radio company’s stations having absolutely no live, local on-air talent whatsoever.

Detroit radio will continue down the slide of irrelevancy.

Spotify/Podcast listening will surpass at least 1/2 of ‘traditional radio’ usage.

EMF will purchase another Detroit full power FM signal.

Full-time Hispanic programming will come to a full-power FM station.

Neither WWJ nor WJR will make it to the FM band this year.

Birach will be in big trouble with the FCC.

Happy New Year.

Amy Andrews finally gives in to her urges and marries me, telling Jeff.."Sorry, Boz Scaggs is better than you"....

Do you wish to clarify further as to which two specific stations you believe will shut down. Obviously you have two in mind. If you don't want to spell out the two stations at least explain the reason or reasons why you believe they will "go off the air permanently".

I read Art Van's post and wondered the same thing Six+ is. To me, a station going off the air means someone pulled the mains, or the sticks fell down. I find it unlikely any allocation is going to be dead air. Something will be going out, even it's a simulcast of another station somewhere. Perhaps that's what Art Van meant.

1. Beau Daniels will leave WOMC and be replaced by Doug Podell.
2.Steve Kostan will replace Podell at WLLZ.
3.Dave Dalmer and WCSX will continue to rule afternoon drive.
4Due to the cult following on the Michigan Buzzboard Ron Cameron will be hired to do weekend shows on 97.1 the ticket.
5WPON will fire Martin Anthony. He will beg Cameron for a chance to produce his show. After being rejected he will do the right thing and leave the business.
5Mark Wilson will continue to appear on Ron Cameron's show in hopes of landing a full time job. He will eventually take a job as a gopher for his old radio partner Rob Parker.
6Meltdown will be fired by WRIF. He will wind up at WLLZ.
7.Jim Johnson will retire. He will be replaced by Mr. Positive.

I still say it sucks that Steve Kostan is languishing in radio purgatory while there are so many useless hacks hanging around. I would love to see Steve get another full time gig. He's too much about the music, though. Not the liner card or where to send 200200 for the nationwide contest. Same with Meltdown. His breaks can be quite a good listen.

I’ll be more specific with a caveat, I’m only posting here for fun. I have absolutely no insider info.

I think the owners of two Detroit AM stations will turn in their licences, remove antennas and sell land where said transmitting facilities and antennas stood.

As to which stations? As I had previously stated, I have no inside info, but I have driven by the WCAR facility in Garden City, and it looks decrepit, overgrown and unmaintained. It would not shock me if the land that 1270 or 1440 antennas are on, is worth more than the entire facility.

I know this strays off topic.
I'm thinking there could be money to be made leaving the towers up and leasing them to cell and LMR companies.

Heard thru a friend of a friend of some guy who knows this other guy, Kostan still has a high $$ for salary demands....just irresponsible speculation on my part....

I do think EMF may purchased another FM property and Beasley's Praise network will be discontinued.

For once, something I agree with you on!

I don’t even know who this Cameron clown is. From the looks of that thread, I’m thinking it’s some completely narcissistic
