Goodness, between JV, Pirates pitcher Kirby Yates, and plate ump Yaz Diaz, today was a trifecta of "finals". :D Valencia's winning blast put a cherry on top.

Great to see JV having a good outing on his last time pitching as I got Verlander in my points league hoping to win 3RD place in a couple of them.

What was really nice is that a lot of Tiger fans picked up on what was happening and clapped for him.

Wouldn't bother me if Pittsburgh won today. Pirate manager Don Kelly did a lot to help make the Justin Verlander weekend possible. A win today would give Kelly a winning season in his first full season as manager.

John Peck needs to play winter ball or major coaching in Spring Training because his defense isn’t good enough to justify such a poor average and production point.

McGonigle has to be AL ROY. One of the few bright spots in an otherwise poor season.
