Just right or too high? What do you think? Given the financial crunch Scripps is in, I'd say the investment they made in her did not pay off. But they are probably making it back and then some with the TV ads her campaign and her friends are running!

Per the law, Terri had to disclose what she made at Fox 17. It was $76K last year and $22K this year: https://disclosures-clerk.house.gov/pub ... 075413.pdf

About $75,999.99 too much for someone that phoned-it-in from home every day!Plucky wrote: ↑Fri Sep 18, 2026 8:49 am Per the law, Terri had to disclose what she made at Fox 17. It was $76K last year and $22K this year: https://disclosures-clerk.house.gov/pub ... 075413.pdf

A degreed, veteran meteorologist who has worked in a top 50 market for over three decades is probably worthy of a $125k (or greater) annual salary if full time in said market.
So, the $76k number is probably not unreasonable.

Re: Terri's Fox 17 Salary
She is the most popular female weatherperson in this market's history and arguably a top 2 or 3 female on air personality overall here in GR. She was expected to and likely DID add a bump to 17's ratings due to her successful track record in town, therefore I think $75 is a bargain. IMO she settled due to her desperation to get back on air. (yes desperation, she worked ZZM 13 VERY hard as well for any opportunity get back on air after her financial planner company rendezvous ended). I don't know if the plan all along was get on air again before her run for the House or what, but she definitely wanted back in. And spare me the whole "loyalty, part-time" etc. I recall when Michele DeSelms tried to bail on 17 due her missing dinner/bed time with her Kids and they made her a sweetheart deal to work essentially about 5-6 hours a day and she didn't have to stay for the 10p thus addressing her concerns/reasons for wanting to quit. I believe all she gave up was company benefits which she didn't need anyway but didn't have to take a pay cut. If you're wanted, your employer will find a way to keep you. Re: Terri's Fox 17 Salary
Thats an awful salary.
A lead anchor or chief met in a Grand Rapids sized market pays about 120K-180K depending on station, ownership group and experience.
A vet like Kevin Craig was certainly in the 180k-200k+ range.
Someone new coming in would be much lower.
But even a morning (non lead) weatherperson would be in the 80K-100K range. 76K is really low for someone with experience and name recognition.

LMAO Kevin Craig barely crossed $100k if at all. By the time he was named Chief the pay scale had dramatically fallen across the industry as a whole. He was weekend forever. Terri was immediately the most important weatherperson there the day she arrived, part time or not.Newsman123 wrote: ↑Sun Sep 20, 2026 4:23 pm Thats an awful salary.
