I am 100% against autonomous driving. I do not have an issue with a system automatically applying braking if the driver does not or adaptive cruise control to maintain a safe distance, nor do I have an issue with lane assist.

These are driver assist, the driver present and is still in control.

Eliminate the drunk drivers and human driving is ALMOST as safe as autonomous systems.

Kind of looking like this could be THE issue for the 2026 midterm elections.
In Michigan it's also Data Centers
...and Flock cameras.

I'm opposed to warrantless usage of that technology.

I wouldn’t be opposed to the police department having footage for 30 days and it goes poof if it’s housed on their property and only their property with no Internet connection. It sounds to me like flock sells them a product (the cameras and software) and stores the information too. Once they sell the product they should have a minimal role in its use not some subscription where they serve as gatekeeper.

OpenAI was testing models on ExploitGym, a cybersecurity benchmark, with important safety restraints deliberately disabled. Ninety-three percent of the flagged activity involved tasks no model had ever solved, and the systems had been given incentives to keep working rather than quit. The environment wasn’t completely sealed. The models could obtain software through an internet-connected intermediary and discovered the same route could be used to pass information in and out. OpenAI knew agents were using it and, according to the technical reports, chose not to intervene.

That's old fashion "human" advice.

I hadn’t heard that one before. I have more restraint than that though.
