Here is an update of the Golden Girls cartoon. Since it ran from 1985 to 1992, I used a picture of Ron from 1989.
(For future installments of Scoop, I'll use the dark-haired young Ron for scenarios before 2000 and the light-haired old Ron for scenarios after 2000.)
This is Luke from the Patriot days of Ron’s long tenure. I recently stumbled back on this page and memories came flowing back! Good to see it still going.

Good to hear from you again, Luke. How much longer after Ron's death does the NDA last? I hope your oral histories aren't embargoed until all of his fans are gone. We need some tea spilled!
And finally, thanks for "keeping [Ron] on the air" during his Loui's Pizza remote.
I honestly had zero idea who Ron was when I ran the board for his show during his first stint with the patriot. I quickly found out who and how he operated. He was always super nice to me off the air, contrary to how he was with Matt

And yet most people knew who Ron was
Matt's attitude towards Ron bordered on idolatry, so Ron's often harsh on-air treatment of him was hard to understand. That he carried that over off the air is even harder to figure.
Matt was an interesting character off the air as well, though. He thought it was his show when in reality, Ron had him around to drive him to the shows and click the calls on the air because Ron was so out of touch with technology. Alex by far out off all the people Ron brought into the station was the best. Once he left Ron was lost to be honest and Matt could not fill Alex’s shoes.
