Tech issues galore: What the fuck is going on at Kroger?
Re: Tech issues galore: What the fuck is going on at Kroger?
The right lane is also closed on 14 Mile during the Sheetz construction. An EL carwash is also going in with Sheetz. They are adding a right turn lane, and upgrading the traffic signals. Its been pretty congested trying to turn off southbound Coolidge lately.

You can't let shitty customers impact your team morale. TC restauranteurs are quick to remove inappropriate guests. The servers are more valuable than bad customers, and it enforces a spirit of polite and respectfulness. Largely, they are from Ohio.

LMAO. The store is not doing well. It is poorly executed, as I'll explain below. My personal shopping preferences have little to do with that assessment. To help prove my point that they're desperate for business, they just sent coupons for $15 dollars of free groceries (spend $10, save $10 and spend $5, save $5) to the entire area.TC Talks wrote: ↑Fri Jun 26, 2026 9:21 pmSounds like it's not for you. My advice? Don't shop there. You sound like a price buyer, I have always advised my clients to get rid of price buyers as fast as possible.MWmetalhead wrote: ↑Fri Jun 26, 2026 7:13 pmI'm not a big fan of Woodward Market by Meijer. They need to get rid of the gimmicky BS and make it a regular supermarket. Beef prices are outrageously expensive there. Bread aisle is limited. Soft drinks aisle is limited. Dumb coffee shop takes up too much floor area. H&BA aisle is too limited. For some product categories, name brand offerings are sparse and Meijer private label offerings take up too much shelf space.
I usually only go there if I need a few items or if the store sends good coupons in the mail (example - save $10 if at least $10 is spent).
Most times I've been in the store, it's not busy, and most shoppers have only a few items.
The grocery and produce prices are actually very competitive there. Meijer level prices, not Whole Foods level prices. It is the grocery product line sparsity that is my main complaint. The pricing for fresh beef is my #2 complaint (poultry is priced very competitively but selection isn't the best). The cuts of beef mostly come in weird translucent red packaging, which makes it very difficult to judge quality. A meat counter with a butcher would be so much better. Complaint #3 is the suboptimal usage of floor space.
Meijer Corporate thought offering a gimmicky selection of local baked goods, an extensive wine section, and a coffee shop (whose original operator has already failed at that location) would generate considerable shopper traffic. They were wrong.
The store does nothing particularly well except for produce, but Market Fresh / Market Square have multiple stores nearby, and Westborn is also a couple miles down Woodward. Those options offer a more unique and compelling shopping experience.
Woodward Corner Market is not a store where many shoppers have large $$$ orders. Most people go there as a matter of convenience for a few items. Seems to me that likely makes it tough for that 40,000 square foot store to operate profitably.
My prediction is the store will be converted to a Fresh Thyme eventually. I would welcome that.
Nino Salvaggio wanted to build on that site very badly, and originally, it appeared they would be the grocer for that retail development.

Seems to have gotten better in the past week. Drive through there around 5:45 the other afternoon. No backup at all.

My dad has one of those Salvaggio's where the Great Scott! Used to be. They definitely merchandise very well and the produce and butcher counter are excellent. They aren't great with everything.MWmetalhead wrote: ↑Sat Jun 27, 2026 1:40 pm Nino Salvaggio wanted to build on that site very badly, and originally, it appeared they would be the grocer for that retail development.

I would agree with that assessment. Their store on Rochester Rd. in Troy is set up weird, though. I've not visited the location on Telegraph yet (which is closer to my current house) but will do so eventually. I agree they have an excellent butcher counter.

Does anybody else have constant issues with the Kroger website? Half the time I go to look up the latest sale paper, or "redeem" points for the gas discount, I can't get to any of their websites.

You're not the only one. I've had issues the same as you trying to access the website. Sometimes it works and then it stops letting me access. Although I've had better luck with their app on my phone.

It’s still a clunky site, but I have gotten 80% fewer error messages for my orders since July.
Stacked coupons to get 75% off annual boost membership and finalized ESPN+ for free today. Saving on gas(both at the pump and fewer trips to the store via free delivery and free ESPN+ for the year made it worth it. Plus, they have flash sales on select items when you finalize delivery orders. I end up saving 25-75% off flash sale items. For $25, it pays for itself over a year.

Kroger’s website is shitting the bed again today. Showing every single item out of stock and not allowing Kroger deliveries. Apparently, the IT folks are on vacation.
