WCSX might as well play Pink, Lady Gaga and Coldplay too. Classic Rock may have reached it's endgame.edj wrote: ↑Thu Aug 13, 2026 7:55 pmSo was Justin Bieber and he sucks too.ProducerXM wrote: ↑Thu Aug 13, 2026 7:14 pm I don’t understand the absolute hatred of Nickelback. Classic rock is still viable.
The format isn't the problem, it's CSX's execution of it. Some of their song choices are just not fitting for what they're trying to accomplish; either go all the way and have a harder presentation or head back to a softer focus. Right now it's a hodgepodge, and I can't imagine having it on for any length of time.
It speaks volumes when the main classic rock station in my backwards ass town in Oregon is more focused than CSX is at this point (and I don't even live in a rated market). Even before I left Michigan, 94.7 was already a mess musically speaking. And don't get me started on 106.7.
FWIW, I tend to gravitate toward Handcrafted Radio most of the time when I want to listen to classic rock, and I believe the programmer behind it has posted here before. Worth a listen now and then.

I've long felt like WCSX and WRIF should just merge. Give WCSX listeners a few weeks of bumpers, telling them the station is moving to 101.1. No one would ever even notice. We totally need more gospel and praise here in the motor city. Just look at us. All of this Guns and Roses every 16 minutes around the clock. Sinners. All of us.
