These officials gave Western a first down when they didn't even make it to the original line of scrimmage. Whether the extra second should have been added or not doesn't change the fact that Buchanan made a hell of a statistically improbable play to win the game. Michigan definitely played like shit today and hopefully they'll use this experience as a wakeup call.

I watched the replay. It was very close, and it looked to me like he did make a gain. Was kinda hard to tell how much.

But that's not as precise and not remotely comparable to a blatantly obvious clock that you have perfectly synced with the camera. The first camera frame where the clock reads 0:00, just look for the ball. If it was at the edge of his fingertips and it was hard to tell whether there's a gap there or not that's one thing. But you could drive a semi truck through the gap. Refs in basketball and baseball make these kinds of safe/out and who was the ball out of bounds off of every single game. But a ref in a feature game can't see a gap that size? Come on.

The only way this was legit is if Terry McAulay was wrong. And he waited a good 3-4 minutes before verifying things. If he was wrong, he really put his reputation on the line here.

Not only that, it took an extra second to hit the ground. So essentially, they are saying the clock was off 2 seconds.

The clock hit zero and WMU won I was surprised they added a second on and gave Michigan a second chance at the hailmary and win it WOW just WOW. Michigan play like shit other than first drive & final drive on offense. Defense did well bend and don't break and kept Michigan the game will not happen VS the Sooners next week will lose 4 or 5 scores.

CBS sports did a breakdown and the B1G says it was the correct ruling. The opposing player hit the end line and then touched the ball with 1 second left on the real game clock. I still think this coach sucks and Underwood is the most overrated Michigan QB since Devin Gardner.
