I'd assume WXYT-FM counts here too.armchair pd wrote: ↑Fri Sep 04, 2026 4:30 pm Spot on.
I doubt it was much different in Detroit. I didn't bother, but aside from WWJ and WJR, I think the only stations that are live in PM drive are WRIF and maybe The Bounce and KISS. So I'm sure it was EAS and voice tracking about Taylor Swift or whatever.

Re: Severe storm livestreams
When the next big storm hits, maybe Derek and Alan will take a cue from Jim Cantore and do a Weatherboys segment out in the worst part of the storm.deadend wrote: ↑Fri Sep 04, 2026 8:01 am I was watching channel 7’s storm reporting livestream with Halley Vogel until the storm temporarily knocked power out at the channel 7 facility and knocked it off air. The next suggested livestream I saw available was channel 2.
They had that weirdo Derek Kreepvra reporting and he kept getting in the way of the green screen he was standing in front of and looking at his phone instead of talking or giving an explanation of what we were seeing on the live radar. That is the radar he wasn’t blocking or the portion that was showing up on his shirt because he wouldn’t get out of the way. The entire time I watched whoever was off camera (his partner Allen ShlongStreet?) was constantly shouting and interrupting and talking over Kreepvra when he was finally talking about the conditions if the storm. Then Derek Kreepvra would go back to playing on his phone and standing in the way of the green screen and didn’t seem to be paying attention while whoever was off screen kept yelling and hollering.
What a f’ing mess that station is.
Thank goodness I saw WXYZ got their stream back up and running so I switched back to that asap.

Re: Severe storm livestreams
I was watching the storms on Saturday with Michigan storm chasers on TV but also on my computer I have a really cool feature rich program that monitors weather (not mentioning name as to not risk getting banned for advertising, PM me if interested in name) and could get real time weather warning polygons within seconds of issuance. A bit much for non tech savvy people and not perfect, there are some minor bugs
