Except that it's ubiquitous at this point. And it's learning how to avoid being shut down.
If every computer were unplugged it would be gone. Toss the computers in the ocean afterwords. It’s not gonna learn how to power surge you to prevent unplugging or sprout legs and run away.

AI will simply adapt to the smart systems that still exist. You would have to shutdown all the data centers and Flock cameras. Not going to happen. The genie is out of the bottle. We will be done soon. I give us 1-3 years.
You cannot stop AI because so many of these corporate leader brats are using automation and Ai to replace human labor. Until you have leadership changes at large companies, it’s all over.

When you're agreeing with Craig, you should know you're on the wrong side of an issue. While there are certainly ethical and moral considerations to the use of AI, the alarmist bullshit is not productive and not necessary. AI has been a tremendous time-saver for me mostly on mundane writing tasks and training content creation for close to a year now. We're talking weeks, not days, of saved effort that frees up time for me to spend on higher value work. I'm sure you both would have tailed against the production line and the Internet if you were around when both started.

I just don’t see the need for it. Something that’s trained to assist you with a task on a strict program where it just does that I get. Asking it to figure out how to break itself out of something and break into somewhere else so it learns negative skills makes no sense.
Have you very carefully examined the work it does for you for tells that it’s AI or for odd mistakes? Did you see the picture I put in the Scripps thread at the top of the site where it mashed 3 stations into one image? It did the wrong logos again twice yesterday. I bet you it will go on for months like that with absolutely no improvement. It’s trash. You could tell a six year old ONE TIME and it would get fixed.
Besides... politically... AI is nuclear radiation level bad.
