So now an honest question for you - do you give a shit either way whether Trump's face shows up on a commemorative coin? If he was pocketing the profits, that would be one thing. But that's not how it works.

I put it in the same class of putting his name on the JFK MCPA, building a ballroom, and renaming bodies of water: it's a bunch of tasteless bullshit that we'll need to undo after he's gone (hopefully sooner than later!). And even though the money isn't DIRECTLY pocketed by him, you know he'll find a way to get it, or a portion at least. Congress will look the other way...

Side note on the pricing: MAGAts bitch and moan about how high taxes are, but WILLINGLY throw money at the federal government for a coin depicting their savior!

The only thing he's really damaging is the Republican party itself because most of this stuff polls really, REALLY low.

I agree. This one is the least egregious... He's trying too hard to create a legacy for himself by himself. Good Presidents' legacies are created when they're gone or at least out of office. The thing that gets me is how no one, other than a small minority, in the Republican-controlled Congress pushes back on any of this. I hate to say it again, but it really *IS* a cult: their leader can do no wrong.

And most of the time you say I haven't commented on a specific subject, I link to a recent reply where I did in fact comment, and then you just sit there quiet with nothing else to say after you've been proven wrong. I've given my opinions on every single subject you listed above (though I have no idea what the hell you're talking about when you say "illegal elections").

Puh-leez You even started the Iran thread in January. It's almost 70 pages. You have contributed more on this coins thread than that one.

Outside of your 10 seconds of clarity when you lied to say you were off the Trump bandwagon, you have staunchly stood up for your cult leader either by your defense, or your silence. And while you are certainly entitled to your opinions as much as anyone here, the fact that you actually appear to believe you are fair and open-minded is the most disingenuous part of your personality.

What is there to say about Iran? Been the same 'ole for months. I've already said I disapprove of his handling of the war. There's just nothing else to say at the moment until if and when something changes.

And in case you missed the nuance of my point here (hint: you did), it had nothing to do with a coin. My broader point was about social media misinformation and how people lap it up and believe it without so much as a hint of skepticism, so long as it matches their world view.
