Yeah, I am done with this team. The Mize and Skubal trades are catching up to them. As bad as the Houston Astros are, they are playing more complete baseball.

The starting pitching still hasn’t been bad overall. It’s the terrible bullpen and lack of consistent hitting, along with Hinch’s poor managing (or is that from upstairs?) that’s ruining this team. Speaking of bullpen, the carousel continues with Tyler Kinley picked off the scrap heap and Madden optioned to Toledo.

Tigers are shitting the bed right on schedule. Didn't their slide last season start around the same time?

Last season's slide began as a frighteningly spot-on post-All Star Game phenomenon...as I recall.

Damn, I was so geeked about this season, too.

Two things overtly mark this Tigers season - the month of May and the bullpen.
I suppose one could also look at lengthy injury absences to pivotal players.

It's a shame because the emergence of rookie McGonigle as perhaps our best overall position player would have been a stupendous story if only it was tied to a winning team. You can add Dingler to that story.

FWIW, I had serious misgivings when I heard they let go of Rogers - the quintessential backup catcher (a compliment!) with all the intangibles that come with it. The standing ovation he received in his initial at-bat in a ChiSux uniform at Comerica displayed the acumen of Tigers fans - a marvelous moment!

The collapse last year came in spurts.

Their biggest lead was 14 games on July 8, followed by 12 losses in 13 games.

Their high point in games over .500 was 25 on August 23, followed by four straight losses.

The real killer was 11 losses in 12 games in mid-September, which took the Tigers from 9.5 games ahead to one behind.

The first half of 2025 feels like a dream. Everything was headed in the right direction.

Finally a win! Unfortunately Cleveland is still on a hot streak and Tigers are now 4 1/2 back in the wild card, with the Dodgers coming this weekend.

I managed to turn the game on yesterday afternoon and sleep through its entirety!
I knew they had lost 3-0; what I didn't know till now was they had managed only TWO hits!

Damn, we gave 'em a game, but no cigar. The Dodgers stranded FIFTEEN runners, but still eked out a 2-1 win.
Malgeri with a great throw from right to nail a potential run at the plate.

I can't believe they took out Skubal after six innings and only 80-something pitches; he went seven and over 100 pitches in his last start.

Kansas City won, meaning the Tigers are this much closer to last place in the division. 5 and a half back in the Wild Card.

Well that was a dud. Bats quiet all series against good pitching.

True but I saw a couple of positives:

1 - I truly thought, coming into this series, that we were going to be blown out every game by the Dodgers big name offense. With today as the exception (sort of), that didn’t happen
2 - we kept both Fridays and Saturdays games close, 1 run games
3 - we actually did win yesterday’s game. I was there and the Tigers crowd was loud and boisterous. A lot of Dodgers fans there but we outnumbered them
