I don't know for sure but my guess is Brooks resigned because he was continuously undermined by a micromanaging GM. Anyway he wasn't shown the door by security and will remain in his job until October, which would get him to the first year of his contract where both parties have outs. He is not leaving because of a scandal like 4's GM.

I'd be willing to bet money the Taryn Asher saga is the cause, and I'm not so sure this decision was purely by his own choice.

I have a phone full of proof of him quite literally trying to escape this abusive workplace from several months ago. And despite what so many people on Buzzboard seem to think, people actually DO choose to leave this industry BY CHOICE (I did). And sometimes even when they dont have their next job lined up as may be the case with Mr Blanton

Blanton was a nice guy. He was in over his head at Fox 2 where the inmates have run the asylum for many of years. The GM micromanaged everything he did. While it is known he often treated employees or acted like they were still newbies like Grand Rapids, he also tried to stop some of the ongoing ridiculousness there, starting holding people accountable. He shut down Maurielle's attempt at a never end date of grievance leave. He wrote up Taryn and several others after their numerous screaming and yelling at other employees. Hilary was written up for her disrespect to him and others. I have not heard alot of good things necessarily but to be the new guy that is coming in to clean up the divas at that station can not be easy. He kinda walked into a shitshow. Amy A off indefinitely again, Amy L was off for her husband, Deena off for her husband, Hilary off on medical after she got suspended, Maurielle off for either 12 foot surgery or COVID for a million times. Think about it, any manager that tries to come in and wrangle up the masses would not do well. Again, I have heard about some things he did like treating them like Grand Rapids folks that certainly didn't win anyone over.

Can absolutely tell you it is his own choice. It's been an incredibly toxic work environment since the jump, thanks to the GM. The Taryn thing was very much already on the works when he signed on. That was not his doing. It's been an awful experience and he needed to get out for his own sanity.
