MLB Team Valuations

Unread post by moldyoldie »

It's interesting to see that outside of the White Sox, all teams in the American League Central are in the lowest third of MLB team valuations with the Tigers at #24 of 30.
Also, with MLB teams not having a salary cap, margins to EBITDA (earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization) hover at around 5% in aggregate. (The free-spending Mets have a whopping $272 million of negative EBITDA!) The NBA, NFL and NHL; all of which have salary caps; have EBITDA margins of about 20%.
