Kevin Richards out at IHeartless
Re: Kevin Richards out at IHeartless
Is that the same Greg Borgman that worked at WKBZ/Muskegon in the early 1990s?

Yep. He died about a decade ago from cancer.

I believe Kevin sensed for a while that he was on a short list to experience the long blade of iHeart. Given the advent of GPS, Ways, and other apps, traffic reports (as one might suspect) really are simply a means to sell adveristers. Kevin at least made them interesting and personable. His departure from iHeart came just weeks after the passing of his wife... if you're the praying type, I'm sure he'd appreciate them. Grateful he's still on at WCSG.

As of Monday, 1/27, the morning traffic spots on WOOD's West Michigan Morning News have been handled in-house. At first I thought it might be because of Dave Kaechele being off--but then I checked a WZZM TV morning broadcast, and he was working there.Feature/writer wrote: ↑Wed Aug 14, 2024 7:41 am ......also heard Dave Kaechele doing traffic on Cumulus WJRW-AM, (1340) so I assume he's available to the other Cumulus stations?
Perhaps Kaechele was just a bridge over a gap to get things ramped up in the studio/engineer's board?
All but one morning it's been Lauren "Shmitty" Smith in the spots...and she's getting more detailed with it. During her vacation day on Friday 1/31, producer Adam Arocho provided traffic.
I never think to try checking the other iHeart or any Cumulus stations. Honestly, if the traffic coverage doesn't rebound some on WOOD, I might cease to tune them in at all. Of late if my GPS app or another indication about a traffic problem gets my attention, I switch over to WCSG to gain Kevin's insights.
Take care, Statmanmi

Kind of odd..... I still hear Dave Kaechele doing traffic on iHeart-owned WTKG-AM. Why isn't he on also still on "sister" station WOOD-AM/FM?
