Unfortunately, yes. They were well west of the eyewall. No storm surge, only a little wind, and completely manageable rainfall amounts.

Some of the worst weather occurred late last night and this morning in the western Charlotte, NC Metro. Multiple dam failures or emergency floodgate releases there. Double digit rainfall totals were fairly common just west and northwest of Charlotte.

There are days I feel very fortunate that Michigan has relatively uneventful weather.

Metro Atlanta also had some insanely high rainfall totals. I think Hartsfield Airport reported an 11 inch total.

Luckily that is one of the BEST airports in the country that never has any other issues. I'm sure they're handling this flawlessly.

Holy Shit, Johnson City Tennessee has been crushed. Asheville is in bad shape. Everyone is focused on Florida, but it seems like it's just as bad hundreds of miles away.
