And thanks to Bobbert, we have the 1st & 5th pages of the original thread, along with - five years to the day, allowing for Leap Day! - a March 1, 2019 view of the Buzzboard page when the original thread had but a lowly eight pages.Bobbert wrote: ↑Thu May 04, 2023 12:40 pmI got curious about the length of that thread. Here is the last recorded evidence I could find of it, about nine months before it was accidentally deleted:Momo wrote: ↑Thu May 04, 2023 12:19 pmWow, the first several pages of the old thread, thought forever lost to history! Untold generations, yet unborn, will be thanking you, Bobbert, for your collections as they, along with historians, study Ron at the Ron Cameron Excellence in Brokered Broadcasting Library & Museum.Bobbert wrote: ↑Thu May 04, 2023 11:58 am This seems like a good time to return to the very beginning of this thread (under another name) in 2013:

One of the posts includes what I consider to be one of the defining comments about Ron:
"To meet Ron C. is to have personal issues with him."

Re: Ron Cameron
Unfortunately WPON's stream for Ron's last show on February 16, 2024 wasn't working and I wound up recording nothing.
Re: Ron Cameron
No worries, Frank. With our contemporaneous posts, we can just do a reenactment if that becomes needed.

Re: Ron Cameron
So after tomorrow’s show, I am not sure what traffic will be like for this thread. For some they will be happy that the “Ron Cameron” thread will be slowing down
Just looking at the numbers though, over a million views and almost 27,00 posts. Rons show was a show not to miss, from the play by play, the weekend shows, the holiday extravaganza shows and so fourth
Hopefully the thread will live on when we have those Ron Cameron moments that come up
Posting when Jake Rogers hits a home run to win a game
When “Comboro” talks about being a leader
Haliburton wins a title
Killian Hayes….well you get the point
Hope we all continue to add comments now and then to keep this thread going and the entertainment the show brought

Re: Ron Cameron
The AA and Revolving Door Show ended today's broadcast by mentioning the Ron Cameron tribute show scheduled for March 1st.

A tip of the hat today to DeltaDawn, who, in our ancestral thread, asked us to summarize Ron Cameron in one word.
Among the earliest of responses was one that asked DeltaDawn,

So what made this deserve a new discussion? He has been around forever. I think you have personal issues with him[.]

It should only be fitting that today it was announced the Pizza Cat Max location in downtown Detroit, a former advertiser on SportsTalk, is closing down. We all know “it (was) quite a place, you really gotta go there”…but not enough to dent that rent down there!
Re: Ron Cameron
I think Ron was one of those people that if you met him or listened to his show, you couldn’t help but comment on him, be it positive or negative.Momo wrote: ↑Fri Mar 01, 2024 6:58 am A tip of the hat today to DeltaDawn, who, in our ancestral thread, asked us to summarize Ron Cameron in one word.

Re: Ron Cameron
A female umpire on the doorstep of calling a regular-season MLB game?! It's probably best that Ron didn't see this development. As he might have said, "What is this world coming to?"

Female umpire in MLB??? Ron would ask "What Are You Doing Here??"
Re: Ron Cameron
I was one who tried to patronize Ron's sponsors, but that was one I never got to. I have a friend who lives nears the Westland location but we've never gone there either. The menu certainly fits their slogan "Keep pizza weird".uncleb67 wrote: ↑Fri Mar 01, 2024 9:15 am It should only be fitting that today it was announced the Pizza Cat Max location in downtown Detroit, a former advertiser on SportsTalk, is closing down. How is Vegan in the Hood doing? That was another I haven't been to.

We can remember Ron in the same way he remembered a lot of things—in a different way every time we think about him.
Re: Ron Cameron
Yes, now that he belongs to the ages, we can take a more historical perspective of his career. The different reactions of the past week have shown that he was many things wrapped up in one person. Some unique perception of Ron will pop up in our minds and we'll share it here.radiofan1974 wrote: ↑Thu Feb 29, 2024 7:52 pm So after tomorrow’s show, I am not sure what traffic will be like for this thread.
