Thank you.

CD92.9 set to go online only at the end of the month.

A place to go for those of you who wish to discuss happenings in OH, IN, IL, WI, and Ontario. OSU sucks, by the way.

Not sure they'll be able to come back to terrestrial for a fourth time. Unfortunate this has to happen to a great station.

I listened to this station a few times during its 102.5 incarnation and was always unimpressed by what I heard. It sounded like a low budget college station being held together by bubble gum and duct tape.

I am no fan of iFart's 105.7 in Columbus. Corporate sounding Modern AC-ish station.

The guy who sold the original 101.1 facility is long gone. The ones who are quarreling are his former GM and some hanger-on characters. The sale to OSU occurred in 2010, when the economy was really in the crapper.

It’s a real bitch to be a standalone station in the days of cluster sales. ESPECIALLY when you don’t own your own stick. I always thought they sounded better than the various brands iHeart put on the 105.7/106.7 signals over the last decade and a half, but it looks like they won the Alternative war just by hanging on.

If you think CD 101, 102, 92 sounded bad, you should give the new station a listen. I’ve streamed it a few times and your description of CD above is exactly what 93X sounds like to me. I’ve listened to a wide variety of modern rock over the last 25 years and I couldn’t recognize a single song they’ve played. It definitely sounds like an amateur operation.

The various CD operations had a couple decades of brand recognition in Columbus and probably couldn’t turn a profit. I’ll be surprised if this station makes it to 2025.

Zero chance iFart would've put programming on 105.7 consistent with the WWCD brand. Their extremely commercialized & poppy (poopy?) flavor of alternative is far different from the heavily indie flavor featured on WWCD through the years.
Randy Malloy does NOT fuck around. Something tells me a lawyerly C&D with all the info on the copyrights he and his company have put a quick end to iHeart's dastardly deeds/
