Bill Belichick OUT
Bill Belichick OUT
Rumor has it that he will be leaving New England and that the official announcement is coming today at noon. He had one year remaining on his contract, but apparently both parties have mutually decided to terminate that contract without consequence to either. The decision was apparently made about 2 months ago when the Patriots fell to 2-8.

He's definitely past his prime and I'm not sure he even fits into today's NFL - do you think he will end up coaching elsewhere next year, or is this retirement? It is also painfully obvious that the key to New England's success all those years was Tom Brady.

Wow....losing both Saban and Belichick in a 2 day period.
The censorship king from out of state.
Re: Bill Belichick OUT
He was on the first episode of A Football Life and he kind of mumbles but I think he says, "I won't be like Marv Levy and coach when I'm in my seventies. You don't have to worry about that." That was a long time so he certainly could feel differently now.

He'll retire and become a studio analyst on TV. That's my prediction.

Hopefully he'd show more life and forthrightness than in his post-game pressers.MWmetalhead wrote: ↑Thu Jan 11, 2024 2:26 pmHe'll retire and become a studio analyst on TV. That's my prediction.
BTW, Pete Carroll also stepped down as coach of the Seahawks today. That one no one saw coming, at least I didn't.

Pete C. is older than I had assumed.
The number of NFL head coaching vacancies is nuts.

Has to increase the chances of Harbaugh bolting...

The right needs to stop worry about what’s between people’s legs. Instead, they should focus on what’s between their ears.
Audacity sucks.

Between the high payouts of all of these vacancies out there and riding away in the sunset on top, I think he goes to the NFL.

Re: Bill Belichick OUT
It's possible he could leave, but it won't be because NE fired Belichick. I believe Harbaugh wants to stay - he's a teacher and an advocate for his players. The sticking point appears to be what the university is willing to affirm in writing regarding the vindictive ncaa bullshit.MotorCityRadioFreak wrote: ↑Thu Jan 11, 2024 8:42 pmBetween the high payouts of all of these vacancies out there and riding away in the sunset on top, I think he goes to the NFL.

Re: Bill Belichick OUT
I thought that Bill was going to leave the Pats it was time for fresh blood for the Pats, The Hoodie isn't going to be out of a job for long if he still wants to coach in the NFL. I think Bill is done coaching and will retire and be on one of the NFL studio shows.

The Pats have already named their new head coach. Promotion from within the organization.
