*** This is NOT Richard D Haase ***
Somehow I missed this over the summer. A former colleague of mine was just at the estate sale:

Richard Haase was in the IT department when I was at Greater Media. One of the nicest guys you could ever care to meet. I'm sorry to hear this.

You know what? I don't think this is the right guy. This guy's name is Richard D. Burton, according to the obit. But this guy worked at WHND...can someone clear this up???Mega Hertz wrote: ↑Sat Nov 11, 2023 3:59 pmRichard Haase was in the IT department when I was at Greater Media. The one I'm thinking of went by Richard D. Haase. If his real last name was Burton, I have no idea. Mr. Haase was indeed at Honey Radio. Where Burton comes from, I don't know. Let me look at the picture and I'll know for sure.Colonel Flagg wrote: ↑Sat Nov 11, 2023 4:07 pmYou know what? I don't think this is the right guy. This guy's name is Richard D. Nope, that's a totally different guy than who I'm thinking. Two Richard D's that worked at Honey? Weird.

Fixed. Maybe somebody remembers this guy.
Thanks Mega Hertz

I was fairly sure Richard D Haase lived in Shelby Township, not Westland...

The Richard D. Haase we all remember from Honey Radio was much older than the Richard in the death notice above. The original, if you will, died a few days after Christmas last year and lived in Warren. He was 87 and was on WHND from 1980 to 1994 while working in IT for Greater Media. Based on the death notice of the younger Richard Burton, he would have started at WHND sometime after 1983, so it would appear likely both men worked at the station at the same time.

Thanks for the clarification. I appreciate it.IIN4MU wrote: ↑Sat Nov 11, 2023 6:20 pmThe Richard D. Haase we all remember from Honey Radio was much older than the Richard in the death notice above. Prior to getting into IT, wasn't Richard D the PD at Honeyradio?

Yes, Colonel, he was the program director at Honey. He also worked twice at WXYZ 1270 before landing at Honey.

Richard was one of the guys that trained me when I worked for Joe Krause at Greater Media in the late 80's. Very "up all the time" if I recall.
