As announced at tonight's SOLD OUT WLAV 50th anniversary show, Verve Pipe front man Brian Vander Ark will return to take over afternoon drive at the legendary 97LAV.

A major improvement to the lineup of Grand Rapids only Classic Rock station and a sure fire winner in the ratings.

What's funny is several of Audacy's alternative stations across the country play the Verve Pipe, but for some reason, Detroit's WDZH is not one of them.

That band was a one album wonder. I did enjoy the singles that charted.

I honestly don't remember a damn thing about his first tour of on-air duty at LAV, other than the fact he was heard middays for a few hours daily.

I remember it, It wasn't anything interesting or special, He rarely spoke, I understand why Cumulus canned him when they bought LAV and put in Ellen O murphy, When I honestly thought it should've been Kevin Matthews in his slot.

I also remember WLAV having subpar ratings at the time, Also when WZZM had top of the hour news briefs on it.

I think you mean Mary Ellen Murphy, 48125, but I believe it was actually Kim Carson who took over that time slot after he left the first time.

your right It was Mary ellen murphy I got my irish names confused, cause Kim didn't go to LAV until Summer 2012 when she was fired by townsquare.
