What's the score?

Unread post by WinPlentyWithDente »

Will any metro Detroit radio station be broadcasting the baseball League Championship Series?

Maybe one of those piss ant AM stations that broadcast across the street.

If it's ESPN, I would try 1530 out of Cincinnati.

If that's the case, would WMVP 1000 out of Chicago be an option?

Possibly. I can't remember offhand what if any local sports rights they have. Personally I usually get a better signal from Cincinnati.

What's the score of the Red Wings game? I think I'm dying...Send Rescue. Can anyone find this long lost audio? Someone did a skit on Youtube but it's gone.

There's also ESPN 850 Cleveland (I can't bring myself to call it WKNR  ).
Signal across the lake is sketchy though, sometimes good often not.

WMVP powered down its signal recently, it doesn't blast to the east like it used to. Even in far SW Michigan it's apparently not as strong as it used to be. I believe the only Chicago teams they have the rights to are the Bears and White Sox so there shouldn't be any conflicts with the LCS games, and they're otherwise full time ESPN Radio except for their local shows during the day during the week

It is incredibly frustrating that MLB playoff games cannot be found easily OTA. WMVP now being the Bears flagship station may play into why I don't get much offered there. I live in Grand Rapids and 96.1 airs the Oversized show, with some form of statewide network so that tamps down any prospect of day playoff games (great ratings on your flagship, by the way). I will hold out hope.

Like many other types of radio programming, SiriusXM is an option:

Only if you pay extra for the MLB package now.

Used to enjoy listening to out of market games occasionally when the Tigers were competitive and other teams were nipping at us. Nowadays, considering the only time I’m traveling out of state in the summer is to see the Tigers somewhere else, I don’t need it and am not willing to pay more for it.
