Now don't go Mutt on me.
Sure the gun makes it easier. But if they have decided to take their life, would they still just use another means?
High dive in the river. Step in front of a loco. Exhaust hose into the car.
I'm not saying I know that answer. Just throwing it out there.
Life is not a dress rehearsal. This is it. There's no going back, and we can only go forward before we run out of runway.

Self protection is a giant myth. The person most likely to be hurt or killed is the a family member of the gun's owner. It's laughable to argue it.
New York and Chicago were all in with respect to their sanctuary status — until they were hit with the challenge of actually providing sanctuary. In other words, typical liberal hypocrisy.
Re: Canada's Lax Gun Laws Lead to Another Mass Shooting
To further illustrate that we don't have a gun problem, but a problem with the people that misuse guns, consider this:
The worst 1% of counties (the worst 31 counties) have 21% of the population and 42% of the
murders. The worst 2% of counties (62 counties) contain 31% of the population and 56% of the
murders. The worst 5% of counties contain 47% of the population and account for 73% of
murders. But even within those counties, the murders are very heavily concentrated in small
areas.
Care to take a guess at what those high murder rate areas have in common?
As a side note, 52% of US counties had 0 murders in 2020 although having higher gun ownership rates than the worst 5%.

You mean more people get shot where people are common and cows aren’t? This is a revelation…Bryce wrote: ↑Tue Sep 05, 2023 2:18 pmTo further illustrate that we don't have a gun problem, but a problem with the people that misuse guns, consider this:

We also have one of the most lenient punishment problems in the world. How many felonies has your boy Bragg plead down to misdemeanors since elected? How many felons caught with guns has he let out with little or no bail prior to trial?TC Talks wrote: ↑Tue Sep 05, 2023 6:58 pm

Re: Canada's Lax Gun Laws Lead to Another Mass Shooting
Correct.
The recent MSU shooter McRae had been arrested on felony weapon charges, which were later plead down to misdemeanor charges. The five year felony charge was plead down to a no jail time misdemeanor. Had they made the felony charge stick, he would have still been in prison the night of the shootings. He had also had police contact previously for firing a weapon from his home, which also were essentially ignored. Previously, police had seized several weapons. Simply put, the lenient prosecutorial system chose not to deal with the laws we already have.
The info is out there, but it's awfully quiet because it doesn't fit the spin that is desired by the media.
Here we are off on yet another non-broadcast related morass of a discussion started quite intentionally by yet another idiotic comment from our resident shit-stirrer. This is a BROADCAST message board....yet 94.5 starts up in northern Michigan, and it gets 9 messages before it dies off....4 of which are essentially unrelated to the new station....no discussion of coverage, ownership and history or sound quality. Yet this twit drops yet another of his play-innocent bombs in the shorts of the board, it ignites another fight, and he sites in his little corner whacking off with joy over over another storm he's created. He likes to call himself a socialist, all the while enjoying a lifestyle unimaginable to the actual socialist populations, but likes to create infighting much the way the Communists of the 50s and 60s did.
Regrettable that we all continue to entertain him.
The box that many broadcasters won’t look outside of was made in 1969 and hasn’t changed significantly since.
Re: Canada's Lax Gun Laws Lead to Another Mass Shooting
Sorry. I thought non-broadcast topics were permitted in the chatterbox forum, juat as non-broadcast topics are permitted in the politics forum.
I often get criticized for expressing opinions in your political forum but I thought this political opinion might fit here, since I was criticizing our own government here in Canada, I didn't expect it to upset anyone.

I don't mean to brag, but I just put a puzzle together in 1 day and the box said 2-4 years.
Re: Canada's Lax Gun Laws Lead to Another Mass Shooting
We have enough posts and forums here on the MIBB devoted to people who want you to think that your politics are the most important aspect of life, and screw you if you don't stand in their line. Intercourse them.
There are two PolPot forums alone, but that doesn't stop PolPotting in any post or forum. Those posters also seem to believe that the "anything goes" rules of the PolPots applies board-wide.
PDS (politics derangement syndrome) seems to have been created on this board, with many many posters here suffering from it.

So my post crossed some kind of a line?

Re: Canada's Lax Gun Laws Lead to Another Mass Shooting
It just should have probably been in the PolPot US/World section.

If you're reading yhis, MW, please delete this thread. I didn't expect it to so enrage all the Liberals here.

Re: Canada's Lax Gun Laws Lead to Another Mass Shooting
FTR, your post didn't enrage this Liberal. You asked if it crossed the line and I just mentioned it was mis-categorized.
