They took 3 of 4 in KC. It’s a start. Can you they sustain it and go 10-5 in the next 15?
No. E-Rod and Lorenzon are sure to be traded soon. They will be fighting to beat the Shitsox for third place in September (and will fail).

Knowing ownership, you are probably right.

I wish Minnesota or Cleveland would get on a hot streak so that we can get a more realistic view of the Tigers season. I picked up the latest USA Today Sports Weekly, and read about all the major league teams. The Tigers have a ways to go with their development, compared with other teams.

I also read that a lot of teams need starting pitching. Scott Harris should definitely be open to offers for Rodriguez and Lorenzen. But hopefully he can show better judgment than Avila did with the Verlander trade—that is, get some players who can immediately help.

Might be the best single day performance by an MLB player in league history.

I predict the Tigers will be at least 20 games under .500 by August 31.

Ruth couldn't pitch as well as Shohei. Maybe better raw power. Okay for sure more power, but I don't think people realize what we are witnessing and how special it is.

Here's a guy who pitched a no-hitter and hit two home runs in the same game:

Wow, I'd forgotten about the Rick Wise feat. I most remember him being traded for future Hall-of-Famer Steve Carlton, a righty for a lefty. I'd say the Phillies got the best of that deal!

Lorenzen to the Phillies, E-Rod stays. We get a High-A second-baseman. Rebuild Redux continues.

Is Rodriguez out of his mind??? I guess a chance to make a playoff run this year doesn't mean shit to him.

Rodriguez also has a no-trade clause that gives him the right to block trades to 10 pre-selected teams (of which the Dodgers were one).
Maybe he just doesn't want to move to California. Can't say I blame him.

I wonder who the other nine teams are that are part of his 10-team no-trade clause?

I'd love to see him stay in Detroit and sign a new multi-year deal with us.

Right?? Coronado Island is a shithole… Napa Valley is a cesspool… San Diego’s weather is absolutely miserable. Let’s not even begin to talk about the shitty golf courses right on the Pacific Ocean!

It sounds like his family didn't want to move clear across the country (or at least be without their father, who certainly would have to move clear across the country) and then potentially have to move a second time once the current season concludes:

Kudos to him for putting his family first.
