WZZM 13's main anchor, Kirk Montgomery, announced at noon that he is leaving the station.

He is moving to Detroit to take care of his father who is in failing health.

There isn't a nicer person in the world than Kirk Montgomery. There was a video of him skiing when he worked out in Denver that was awesome. Such a sweet guy. Sorry to hear about his father...

I would go solo with Juliet for a while. Then maybe move Jay to 6 and 11. I like Jay in the mornings. Really don't want to move him. Maybe put Veronica and Emily together in the morning. Probably gradually add more airtime for Travier. He has a lot of talent, just needs more experience.

He always sounds like he's whispering on air, I always liked him though, he sounds like a good honest person.

To Kirk and WZZM's credit this is true. A few years ago Kirk's dad and step mother were in an awful accident. His step mother held on for a while but eventually passed. His dad was able to recover a little bit better but still suffers from injuries incurred in the crash. That combined with advanced age prompted Kirk to move in with his dad to give him the best care possible. Kirk also needed to work so when this opportunity came up I'm sure it was to good to pass up. Congratulations to one of the good guys in the business.
