Why isn't Johnny D on in the Afternoon on K100. He's a stronger air talent than Mookie. John interacts with the listeners, you hear phones on the air, he's active on social where he gets a response from the audience.
Mookie is just kinda there. Mookie has been doing the same show for the last 20+ years. Also, that horn when someone wins a prize is so old fashioned. Maybe its time for old Mook to consider retirement.

Re: Why?
is Mookie still using Rodney Dangerfield's boat horn from Caddyshack?? Jesus, he was using that in 2005 on Kiss and it was already a 25 year old reference THEN.
Re: Why?
Yes, and that horn makes him sound like he’s on the radio in 1980. It’s dumb. It’s not relatable. He should stop being “radio” and start being a person. Just say congrats or better yet feature the listener being excited. That horn makes it about him and his ego, not about the person who called and won.

Re: Why?
Personally I feel Mookie is an overall better fit for Country than Johny. I'd rather have Johny on just 93.5 and someone else with decent country experience on K100.
Re: Why?
Country nationally has turned to more phone based fun shows. Much like what John is doing. Mookie in afternoon is not modern country radio. It’s actually very old fashioned.
Just looking at the format as a whole. John is also more of a brand name in Toledo than mookie is. Sure mook has been in the market a long time, but again his interaction with the audience is significantly less.
John is more memorable. The goal is to be memorable with your audience, and mookie does nothing that is memorable with anyone.

Re: Why?
Well, this couldn't be more false. Johnny D was on K100 before his wife took the role of VP. It was the previous GM who put him there.JonnyD is a fish out of water on K100, and wouldn't have a shift on there if he wasn't boinking the VP.
Johnny sounds more like a modern country station than Mookie does. Mookie sounds like radio in 1984. John at least evolves and remains current with the audience. Mookie has been doing the same show for the last 30 years.
