Ron Cameron
Re: Ron Cameron
I would hold those questions for Libett for now. I'm more than a little doubtful that the very busy Ron made contact with him in the last 24 hours, let alone got him to agree to be a guest.

I am wondering if rich Kincaid has gone the way of Mark wilson?
Re: Ron Cameron
I’ve been attempting to listen to SportsTalk through both the WPON website and the TuneIn app, in both instances, the sound quality starts off “OK”, then deteriorates into inaudible gargling and static for last hour or so.MWmetalhead wrote: ↑Sun May 21, 2023 3:35 pm I love the alternating current "hum" in the audio chain! Re: Ron Cameron
I'm really struggling to pick this show up. I can hear it streaming but if I dare put my ear buds in, it sounds like people talking in a fishbowl. Picking it up in my car, well depends on what side of town I'm on, very sketchy. The buzzing is very annoying, that happens sometime. I just go back in here to see what I missed and this has more LOL moments. The most moronic thing I heard Ron say was he would trade Verlander for Rogers , today's versions, straight up. At this point Ron might as well book that trip with his mancrush to Hawaii in the Kapler suite. What's wrong with him??uncleb67 wrote: ↑Sun May 21, 2023 9:24 pmI’ve been attempting to listen to SportsTalk through both the WPON website and the TuneIn app, in both instances, the sound quality starts off “OK”, then deteriorates into inaudible gargling and static for last hour or so.MWmetalhead wrote: ↑Sun May 21, 2023 3:35 pm I love the alternating current "hum" in the audio chain! It’s very strange, when I try to stream it over Bluetooth speakers the same happens, can’t hear it at all? I have to listen straight from the phoneMr.Transistor wrote: ↑Sun May 21, 2023 9:56 pmI'm really struggling to pick this show up. Re: Ron Cameron
I am guessing this is a combination of Martin’s poor producing and Sima’s cheapness.
Re: Ron Cameron
Of course, this morning when I listened, I heard, loud and clear, “Express Yourself” by Charles Wright & the Watts 103rd Street Rhythm Band from 1970. Great song, either way.

My favorite Charles Wright & the Watts 103rd Street Rhythm Band recording was "Do Your Thing."

Same deal here and that option is not always a realistic one. I've had Ron's show coming thru the radio only to have friends say, who in the hell is that yelling on the radio? He sounds like an idiot.
Picking this "pea-shooter" station up on the radio is like flipping a coin for myself. Maybe Ron's gaffe is doing me a favor and assisting me to use my time more wisely or listen to more intelligent options.
Ray Scott is actually always a good listen when Ron actually lets him talk. Even though Ron always has him on, he doesn't get old with me and sounds like others here agree.

Regarding the "sports" theme: Somewhat surprisingly, Ron did tell me that Denny McLain's musical/recording career was a subject I could ask Mr. McLain about about the next time he was on Sports Talk.

Ron makes an exception for two-strikes Denny.Majik wrote: ↑Wed May 17, 2023 9:22 pmOf course with Ron he wouldn’t get the third strike. Ron must stay true to the Catholic High School League rules he spearheaded to save that league.Momo wrote: ↑Wed May 17, 2023 4:18 pm
And, of course, much of this first hour was used to promote Ogrodnick's ("Get me his stats, Alex") appearance the next hour. How often has this pattern played out, ending with the guest stiffing Ron? Always a highlight for me. Ron said Ogrodnick - who had been a no-show before, prior to being on his show - would be "by the phone." But after having Alex try unsuccessfully to make contact, Ron had enough. He wasn't "going to babysit these guys." You "can't play games with these guys." If he called, Ron said he'd put him on the air. But if not, he wasn't going to ask him on again. This would be his "second strike" & Ron wasn't "going to give him a third strike."
Re: Ron Cameron
Someone did that once on Ron’s show. If I recall Denny flat out denied it and the guy was dumped(or just hung up)MWmetalhead wrote: ↑Mon May 22, 2023 4:52 pm Can you ask Denny why he decided to screw over his employees by embezzling pension funds?
