Congratulations on the 1,000 page post! There should have been a stoppage in Ron's show and a ceremony should have took place. Thanks to Mr. P for mentioning that the momentous occasion had occurred.
McCatty was a very good guest today despite Ron's interjections and trying to turn into an all about Ron thing.
A few items that have been noted already make it not quite up to the Jim Kaat scale for Mr. McCatty:
1) speaking nicely of Tigers announcer Dan Dickerson (negative points in Ron's book)
2) speaking nicely of Bryce Harper who Ron has used as a battering ram as a poster child of overpaid players (more negative points for Ron)
3) Lastly, speaking favorably of the United Shore Professional Baseball League. How many times has Ron talked negatively of the league, letting his personal opinions and experiences take over his professional objectivity. (McCatty strikes the trifecta!)
Also, may I add that McCatty did not rip Billy Martin like Ron was oh so dying that he would've done. Instead McCatty said quite the opposite.
McCatty did agree with Ron about keeping the baseball shift, but that probably won't be enough to keep Steve off Ron's bad list, because of the negatives you mention.

Since you guys are on the cusp of reaching your 1,000 page, I figured now was as good a time as any to log in and be the first to offer my early congratulations on the impending milestone. Just two questions though,.........did you always want to get to 1,000 pages, and do you feel page 1,000 will be your "greatest thrill"?
One of my greatest thrills occurred on July 24, 2022, when Ron officially banned mentions of the Buzzboard from his show. We really arrived as a potent force that day.

Part of that ban is recorded for posterity at the beginning of this link:

12/22/19-4/16/23. And respect to the missing 80 pages from the initial thread.
Would you say that numbers kicked up post

Yes, the legend of Ron grew during the Cova.
I do feel The Legend Of Scoop grew during the Cova, but I’m shocked he made it through (probably no PPP loans for Scoop, who “tells it like it is!”). Knowing from personal experience of Scoop’s top-notch “face-to-face” sales techniques as he tries to strong-arm unwitting small business owners into buying ads on his “highly-rated” sports talk show, the fact many of his “wheelhouse” businesses were either closed or closed to the public, must’ve made for some dark days for The Elvis Of Sports Radio. Many of us do recall when he slipped up and said he was unlawfully dining inside one of his advertisers’ restaurants. The Cova didn’t keep Scoop from enjoying his breakfast with the Sunday paper!
That’s when I started listening, working from home five days a week at that time and while I had heard of Ron from back in the tv talk show days and was a lurker on the message board. I decided to tune in at home when he was on WPON

I believe it was the Friday/Saturday combo and have been hooked since then. With the real time posting and the takes of one Ron Cameron

Regarding the buzzboard's ban: Is July 25, 2022 the right date? The calendar shows July 25, 2022 to be a Monday and Ron wasn't broadcasting on weekdays last year. https://www.timeanddate.com/calendar/?y ... &country=1

As we progress towards the next 1000 pages - & extending our fervent hope for Ron's continued well(ish)-being - our goal should be to enlist within our ranks our chief resister, birthday boy Kurt.

Voting for the 2023 class of the MSHOF is now open. Inexplicably, Ron’s name is yet again nowhere to be found on the ballot. With his sky-high online popularity, maybe the Hall directors should consider including a people’s choice candidate.

As this milestone moment has caused me to reflect, I regret that I didn't join this Board earlier, when Ron was relying so heavily on his "insurance company" questions on his WPON Friday morning show. I'm not sure about the details, but Ron was not doing that show when I started here & when he returned it was on a later time slot (11-1??). With the change in time, the "insurance company" ceased to exist. I also regret the circumstances that led Ron to insist that Martin sic the cops on me, but that story will have to await the passage of the statute of limitations ... or my book.

I stand corrected. Thanks everyone for pointing it out. It was July 24, 2022. I was mislead by the snippet of code where I grabbed the link:

Coincidentally I spoke to Ron on the July 24, 2022 broadcast, "Frank from Grosse Pointe." My call starts at roughly the 25:50 mark with me imploring Ron to get podcasts available. Ron's response was one of incredulity. As podcasts currently haven't been posted since November 6, 2022, I feel vindicated.

Speaking of Hall of Fames .I am proud to announce the grand opening of the Kidcat Ron Cameron Buzzboard Hall of Fame. The first members to be enshrined, are Momo, Bobbert, Mr Positive and Alex. Willie108, Sparty89, radiofan 1974 and edj just came up short. On the Pete Rose banned for life from this hall are Cowboy, Luke, and of course Martin. They add nothing to the show or buzzboard.Congrats to the new members.

Thanks for the honor, Kidcat, I'm overcome with emotion! To be in the inaugural class with such distinguished company is beyond my wildest dreams. Maybe Ron will even agree to be the keynote speaker. As he's famously magnanimous, I'm sure he'd put aside any grievances he might have about his exclusion from the Michigan Sports HOF to give a rip-roaring speech.

I'm honored and flattered. I do have to say that I didn't become really active in the forum until early 2021, when the work of many people before me inspired me to try my hand at satire. For that type of writing, I soon learned that Ron is the gift that keeps on giving.
