FWIW, Gregory Soto got lit up in his Phillies debut, walking two of the four batters he faced, getting none out.
You have no idea how happy I was when they announced they traded Soto. That Phillies debut just solidified it…
Not to put a damper on things, but ex-Tiger Robbie Grossman hit a three-run homer in the same game. :? ( )

Rangers won 16-3 today. Grossman had 2 hits and 2 RBIs. Texas might do good in the west with a real manager.

I only lasted 4 innings with the Tiger game before I started watching the Final Four.

Watching that game today brought back memories of Casey Stengel with the 1962 New York Mets when he asked "Can't anybody here play this game?"

The Titanic's maiden voyage will have a better ending than the 2023 MLB season for the Detroit Tigers....of the American league...

OK people. They are playing a team currently that was in the playoffs last year. Next series is against the World Series champion Houston Astros. We open up at home versus the Boston Red Sox who thankfully suck. Our next two series after that are against San Francisco and Toronto. We’ve got a rough couple weeks to start off the season. I’m positive things will get better

You're being generous.
I saw our lead-off hitter Vierling take two fastballs right down the middle, then proceed to swing at a low-and-outside breaking pitch! If that's our idea of "taking command of the strike zone".... :rolleyes

The Tigers might not be in last place after all. The Royals are also 0-3 and they have a ridiculously hard schedule in April.

Houston split with the White Sox at home this weekend.

So much for 0-162. They looked like an entirely different team at the plate! Y'think they got the message?

They are still -17 in run differential. Kansas City is also 1-3, but they have a -3 differential.

All Boston today 14-5. The game was over by the second inning. Joey Wentz walked three in a row, two with the bases loaded. Bullpen gave up a grand slam and they already had an infielder pitching.

It was 14-2 before Boston gave up three junk runs in the 9th. Tigers are now -32 in run differential.

They have last place secured before Easter. The Royals are starting to play better, and they will never catch Minnesota and Cleveland at this pace.

Austin Meadows on IL again. Akil Baddoo is back from Toledo.
