"To The People" on 97.1
"To The People" on 97.1
To those who listen to The Ticket.
How many listen to the staff banter back and forth, then change channels when they take callers?

I thought maybe "to the people..." was a radio sequel to the old "For My People" series that used to air 6:30 in the morning each Sunday on WKBD.
(That show was truly bizarre. I liked it better when they used open caption in the form of a crawl.)

Morgan Wallen is a piece of garbage.

I haven't listened to 97.1 in quite some time. I guess the deal is, with open lines, that's what you get. There can be good callers sometimes, but there's too many "Bob from Canton" bone heads.

99% of callers suck.
I think I heard a host one time mention that management WANTS them to go "to the people" consistently. Basically, mandating that they take calls. And yes, I have been known to change with the quickness.
Nobody, and I mean nobody, cares what John from Novi with a bad phone connection thinks about the Lions draft.

I can't stand the constant Lions draft talk from K&A. I will turn on WKNR Cleveland sometimes for a change of pace. They actually talk about baseball.

I hear you on K&A. They are a real hit or miss for me. Often they are tough to listen to but once and awhile they get it right. Valenti and Rico is really the only show that can hold my interest most of the time. The morning show needs a rework. Jansen is OK at best, "Gov" is OK, Stoney is bad radio. As for the rest: Wojo is a cartoon and Riger is insufferable. Caputo is Nyquil mixed with arrogance.-ugh. Costa is decent. Jamie's death really left a hole in the talent pool.

Jamie died?

It's what Valenti says just before he takes a caller.MWmetalhead wrote: ↑Fri Mar 17, 2023 7:47 pmI thought maybe "to the people..." was a radio sequel to the old "For My People" series that used to air 6:30 in the morning each Sunday on WKBD.

Do a shot every time Mikey V says "to the people".MWmetalhead wrote: ↑Fri Mar 17, 2023 7:47 pmI thought maybe "to the people..." was a radio sequel to the old "For My People" series that used to air 6:30 in the morning each Sunday on WKBD.

They/them, non-binary and proud.
Remember that “2000 Mules” was concocted by a circus of elephants.
The right needs to stop worry about what’s between people’s legs. Instead, they should focus on what’s between their ears.
Audacity sucks.

Good call, thought of that show for a minute myself, was always interesting waking up a bit early channel flipping and seeing the show in the morningMWmetalhead wrote: ↑Fri Mar 17, 2023 7:47 pmI thought maybe "to the people..." was a radio sequel to the old "For My People" series that used to air 6:30 in the morning each Sunday on WKBD.

All the Lions talk because they are the flagship station for the Lions.

There are two things I can't stomach when it comes to talking about sports. Yelling like your life depends on the outcome of a game and people speaking as analysts about a game when they've never played. Between the hosts and callers, WXYT has those in spades. When I see a sports media personality who can't throw (Although I love him, Wojo is one) they lose credibility with me.
