Hmmm,is the news drought at CBS62 about to come to an end?
Re: Hmmm,is the news drought at CBS62 about to come to an end?
Looks like another former WEYIer joined the team.

Heard she’s solid. She’s also from WLNS Lansing.Luke wrote: ↑Mon Dec 12, 2022 9:08 pm Looks like another former WEYIer joined the team.

Speaking of possible CBS Detroit related news:

Why do I get the feeling that former DIVer Ashlee Baracy leaving WBNS in Columbus is definitely connected to CBS News Detroit possibly hiring her? I could be wrong, but I think this has WWJ written all over it.

This is the most over-hyped programming ever! There's so many news outlets. WXYZ studios has 1.5 hours of news every night from 10 to 11:35. Why do we need local CBS now? Less and less people watch local channels each year.

CBS saw this market needs a news department, especially after the Pandemic. 2020 and 2021 were wake-up calls for CBS.

It has 3. What do you mean it needs a news department?CircleWXYZ wrote: ↑Wed Dec 14, 2022 10:47 amCBS saw this market needs a news department, especially after the Pandemic. 2020 and 2021 were wake-up calls for CBS.

What is CBS News going to report in the Pandemic? The daily crime blight in Detroit. Yay more negative views of the city and now its going to be national on Paramount+.CircleWXYZ wrote: ↑Wed Dec 14, 2022 10:47 amCBS saw this market needs a news department, especially after the Pandemic. 2020 and 2021 were wake-up calls for CBS.

Top 15 market. Detroit once had 4 news departments and will have 4 yet again. It was just time for CBS to get back in the news game.
Seriously, I just think you are looking for a reason just to argue. Not interested buddy.

Crime isn’t the only thing happening in this area. It’s still a major television market.

Ashlee Baracy could also be looking at Baltimore or Washington DC. Her husband works in the Orioles organization.

We all know they will focus more on crime and blight instead just like the other local news do.CircleWXYZ wrote: ↑Wed Dec 14, 2022 3:23 pmMichiganviewer wrote: ↑Wed Dec 14, 2022 2:57 pmWhat is CBS News going to report in the Pandemic? If they are going to be different like they claim, than they might not. We will find out in about a month.

Track record of them saying like they claim is not looking good as they should be broadcasting now. So I would not count on it.CircleWXYZ wrote: ↑Wed Dec 14, 2022 3:30 pmMichiganviewer wrote: ↑Wed Dec 14, 2022 3:28 pmWe all know they will focus more on crime and blight instead just like the other local news do.CircleWXYZ wrote: ↑Wed Dec 14, 2022 3:23 pmMichiganviewer wrote: ↑Wed Dec 14, 2022 2:57 pmWhat is CBS News going to report in the Pandemic? No I am not... you just make some... er... interesting... remarks to put it mildly.CircleWXYZ wrote: ↑Wed Dec 14, 2022 3:21 pmRate This wrote: ↑Wed Dec 14, 2022 2:29 pmIt has 3. But do we really NEED 4? This market is barely top 15... as in #15. But a lot of it plays like something in the 30's. It has a severely degraded viewership of the existing news content. It had that going against it as far back as the mid 1980's when ABC sold 7... part of that was because 7 was severely underperforming the other ABC owned stations in terms of its profitability. So the reality is more complicated.

This is a forum where we discuss about the topic at hand and should be able to express that, without childish remarks. If you disagree with an opinion, that’s fine. But to say they are interesting? Not necessary, my friend. It’s best to say that “I don’t agree with that” or “let’s agree to disagree”, and move on.Rate This wrote: ↑Wed Dec 14, 2022 3:49 pmNo I am not... you just make some... er... interesting... remarks to put it mildly.CircleWXYZ wrote: ↑Wed Dec 14, 2022 3:21 pmRate This wrote: ↑Wed Dec 14, 2022 2:29 pmIt has 3. As for the market needing 4 news departments, well, much smaller markets have 4. Why not? At the end of the day, it’s CBS’ decision, not ours.
