I read the article you posted, Rate.
It says approx 800K users deleted their Twitter account in a months time. I'd be curious to know how many people were deleting their account each month before Musk bought it.
Later on in the article it says Twitter is still seeing growth. Wait a minute. Seems to me when you get past the headline and first few paragraphs, the article is saying the total number of users continues to increase since Musk bought it. That truly seems contradictory to what many are trying to imply.
I'm still a little sleepy. And I haven't had my first cup of mud yet. If I'm looking at the article you posted wrong, let me know.

Beginning in 2019, Twitter began counting users in terms of "monetizable daily active users." According to its Q1 2019 financial report, "Twitter defines monetizable daily active usage or users (mDAU) as Twitter users who logged in or were otherwise authenticated and accessed Twitter on any given day through twitter.com or Twitter applications that are able to show ads."
With that definition in mind, here are the numbers:
Q1 2019 - 134 million
Q1 2020 - 166 million
Q1 2021 - 199 million
Q1 2022 - 229 million
Q2 2022 - 238 million
Nov 10, 2022 - 250 million

So to put things into perspective, Twitter has gained 116 million users in just under 4 years, including 12 million just since the 2nd quarter of this year. As of now, a loss of 800,000 users is barely a blip on the radar. We won't really know if this is anything more than a blip until probably the middle of next year.

And perhaps more fascinating is digging into their US numbers (the ones above are worldwide). Twitter lost users immediately after banning Trump, and it took them a full year to get that number of users back. They hit 38 million USA users in Q1 of 2021 and then fell to 37 million in Q2 and stayed at 37 million in Q2 and Q3 before finally getting back to 38 million in Q4.

Whether the Trump ban was the main driver behind that loss - who knows, but they had been steadily growing in the US since the middle of 2018. Trump did have 87 million followers as of the time he was banned, and there were prominent conservatives who left the platform in protest at the time. Interesting how differently those people who left at the time were treated then compared to the twitter-is-burning-to-the-ground attitude many have towards Twitter over those who are leaving in protest today.

Healthy companies don't stiff their vendors:

I'm not sure that's 100 percent true.
