What is going on with 1520am WPAY Rossford?
What is going on with 1520am WPAY Rossford?
I see they are simulcasting 106.5 WTOD, my guess is the current owners may have entered a LMA with Delmarva? Possibly eventually sell the station to them. With 1520 being off the air for almost a year, it seems the new owners likely didn't have enough money on there own to get the station back on the air, without a little help.

I'm guessing an LMA as well. Plus, they've also recently added transmitters at 103.3 and 94.1. as well. At least 1520's back on the air again.

1520 and 106.5 go well together actually, as 106.5's signal isn't too swift once you get near Oregon and out in Ottawa county it's non existent.

1520am back on the air with Relevant radio, also simulcasting on 94.1fm. Just what we need

Re: What is going on with 1520am WPAY Rossford?
Anybody else get sort of a 'clock ticking' sound when tuned to 1520 ? Didn't know if it was just the way the stupid software decodes radio in car radios these days, or if the noise is coming thru the damn shark-fin? Anyhow, besides the timebomb, the audio on 1520 was decent on Secor Road right up to the Michigan state line. 94.1 signal isn't half bad either, and they do a proper station ID at the top of the hour for both the AM and the translator call letters, so they do better than most stations in town when it comes to that.
WSPD TOH they say "WRVF-HD-2" in 400ms at -30db- so why wouldn't you want people to know? I have heard it 'in the clear' once, and assume they are using morse code to ID the 92.9 translator?

The 94.1 signal is ok where I am. I did noticed 1520am was IDing as WPAY Rossford / W231EF Toledo but the 94.1 signal, nothing.

I noticed today their 94.1 translator is off the air (not silent, no carrier). Any thoughts on why it's off?

I've noticed this too. I'm wondering if they're still trying to get the station set up. I believe the new format is on a time buy so it could be that as well.
Re: What is going on with 1520am WPAY Rossford?
Yeah... 1520am was off the air for like a week but the translator was on airing dead air. Now the translator is out.
On Relevant radio's website it lists WPAY as a station they own. So no idea what's going on.
