That's not factually correct. Dixon's exact quote was "It must be so embarrassing for the governor that it's actually on tape that she said she supports the spirit of defund the police. That's the truth."Rate This wrote: ↑Fri Oct 14, 2022 9:49 am...she said weird things like “The Governor glorifies criminals and wants to defund the police” both of which are patently false. But how the hell are you supposed to address and swat that away in 30 seconds? It’s next to impossible to address all of that in 30 seconds.
Whitmer did, in fact, use those exact words in 2020, saying she supports "the spirit" of defunding the police. Instead of addressing her past comment when called out, Whitmer said that's nothing more than "rhetoric" and then talked about she worked with law enforcement as a prosecutor. Well, she made those comments long after her time as prosecutor. She seemed more interested in talking about gun control than she did supporting law enforcement.
Also, how about this deceptive claim from Whitmer regarding Dixon's position on gun violence?
"The same month as the Oxford school shooting for four children were murdered, eight were injured and the community was terrorized, Tudor Dixon posted on her social media a picture of her shooting a gun with the caption that said, ‘Gun control means using both hands.’"
Talk about deceptive. Yes, she did make that post in the same month. But BEFORE the shooting. She made the post on November 1st. The shooting happened on November 30th.
