Voting this morning
My precinct was pretty empty. I voted 10 minutes ago and was the 36th ballot cast. There were way more poll volunteers than voters.
Only one candidate sent a volunteer to hand out literature - it was for Reggie Reg of WJLB fame! He is running for state representative. The gentleman volunteering for him seemed impressed that I knew Reggie Reg used to be on the radio. He said "I'm surprised someone who looks so young knew that; it was a loooong time ago."

Re: Voting this morning
A few elections back I started voting from my couch.
I don't think I will bother driving to a polling place again.

Especially with our cocksucker of a mayor sending wrong poll location information.craig11152 wrote: ↑Tue Aug 02, 2022 11:06 amA few elections back I started voting from my couch.

Voting for Trump is dumber than playing Russian Roulette with fully loaded chambers.

Should turn him into Benson for prosecution. Isn't that "interfering with an election"??Matt wrote: ↑Tue Aug 02, 2022 11:50 amEspecially with our cocksucker of a mayor sending wrong poll location information.craig11152 wrote: ↑Tue Aug 02, 2022 11:06 amA few elections back I started voting from my couch.

Only if he's a Democrat, cuz that's how Republicans roll...km1125 wrote: ↑Tue Aug 02, 2022 11:58 amShould turn him into Benson for prosecution. Some of the election workers are former city employees. Or former council members. So I know many of them.
Catch up on the latest gossip. It's a Downriver thing.
Re: Voting this morning
Is he on the actual Democrat side or the Republican that’s called a Democrat because what else can you be called side? I’ve known for a long time that all the folks in that town on council are NOT Democrats. For example Heiftje… a vigorously pro-development sort… not exactly a real liberal dream there..Matt wrote: ↑Tue Aug 02, 2022 11:50 amEspecially with our cocksucker of a mayor sending wrong poll location information.craig11152 wrote: ↑Tue Aug 02, 2022 11:06 amA few elections back I started voting from my couch.

Re: Voting this morning
I was #257 on Saturday voting absentee at Warren city hall. Just me and one other guy. This variant is getting nasty, all my friends are sick. I am not taking chances at the polls. I minimize risk when possible.
They/them, non-binary and proud.
Remember that “2000 Mules” was concocted by a circus of elephants.
The right needs to stop worry about what’s between people’s legs. Instead, they should focus on what’s between their ears.
Audacity sucks.

Get well soon.
The pandemic changed things going forward for a very long time, in-person voting at the polls being one of them.
Can't say I necessarily miss it. Yet.
When they take the choice away completely, then - of course - I will miss it.

Not many at the polls where I lived either although I go off hours really governor primary was about the only thing to vote for since there was no challenger in congress on the GOP side there was no one running on the Dem side for US Congress Bill Huizenga has no challengers come Nov. No one wanted to face Bill in Nov it would've been interesting to see who would've won Bill Huizenga VS Fred Upton if Fred didn't decide to retire, I'd have voted for Upton in the primary.

Gibbs defeats Meijer in a close race - 51 to 48 percent.
I'm not happy with the outcome, obviously.
In SE Michigan, Haley Stevens wiped the floor clean with Andy Levin. Stevens' advertising strategy was much more effective than Levin's. The commercial of Levin's I kept seeing on YouTube stunk. Reminded me of the movie Weekend at Bernie's. LOL

Re: Voting this morning
We had a large primary turnout, about one person per household voted.
Ask not what your country can do FOR you; ask what they are about to do TO YOU!!
