Jethro FM on 105.1 Kalamazoo?

Unread post by Michigan Media »

This evening I noticed that Jethro FM is on 105.1 in Kalamazoo. When did this happen? 105.1 was the FM translator for WKPR 1440. WKPR is still airing religious programming. The programming for 105.1 must be originating from WAKV 980 in Otsego.

Advertising a show on their Facebook yesterday, it mentions "on Jethro FM 94.9 99.5 1530AM in GR - 105.1FM 980AM 98.9/ Kalamazoo". Not a single other mention of 105.1 on there, so if they very recently switched, they sure didn't let people know or make a fuss over it.

WKPR Signs Off For Good

Unread post by ChrisWL1980 »

And now WKPR itself is gone. I saw it reported silent on dx-midAMerica, and went to their Facebook page and apparently their last day on the air was on or around August 8.
With this and 102.9 going to BBN, WFUR-AM and its translator are now the only Kuiper stations left, and at this point I wouldn't be surprised if their days are also numbered.
