Just a fun little thought exercise

Post by bmw » Mon Sep 21, 2020 11:40 am

Imagine this.

You put:
-Nancy Pelosi
-Chuck Schumer
-Kamala Harris
-Bernie Sanders
-AOC
-Hillary Clinton

...you put those 6 individuals in a room, lock the door, give them an ink pen and unlimited paper, and give them permission to draw up a brand-new Constitution FROM SCRATCH.

What would the final product look like?

A cross between The Communist Manifesto, Mein Kampf, and a children's finger painting book.

Something resembling a conservative European document. You have to remember that a liberal over here is not a liberal elsewhere. We are the West’s Saudi Arabia in many respects.

Think about our views on sex, drugs and a whole host of other issues. They are rooted in a puritanical religious system that the rest of the west either never had or abandoned a long time ago.

Well... our laws on sex, alcohol and drugs are far more conservative than those in other western nations. It’s a fact. Too bad.

It's true. Other than Eastern Europe and a couple countries in South America, we are the Saudis of the West. Compare us to Germany, the UK, Canada, Uruguay, and even Argentina. We are more conservative.

The right needs to stop worry about what’s between people’s legs. Instead, they should focus on what’s between their ears.

Biden campaign ad copy.

I noticed you left him off the list...

So now, you narrowed your subset to make your point? Complete Fail! (Besides now it sounds like you tacitly support pedophiles, drunk driving, and drug addicts? Keep digging that hole!)

That’s what I was getting at the entire time. Socially we have fallen behind those same countries. When they went and did certain things and who did them first is irrelevant. Oh and no I’m not endorsing anything. Do I think there are some serious Grey areas? Yes. Do we treat it as some extreme black and white thing and run around screaming over these issues At their very mention when we don’t need to? Hell yes.
