Something surprising I heard tonight, Ginsberg and Scalia were close personal friends.
Yes, that is true. People of differing political opinions don't have to be enemies. I know YOU know that, but some others don't.

What's more pathetic: harassing an old man who is paying to do a radio show or supporting a grifter like Trump?

Very close. Spent many New Years Eves together.

I have no animosity toward her, and wish her a smooth journey.

Now she knows...

Its worth noting that although I disagreed with most of her opinions, one can not dispute her distinguished intellect. On an intelligence level, comparing RB's, the G is on the opposite side of the spectrum from eddel.

Yep. She served her country to the best of her ability for many years.

While I disagreed with her on many, if not most occasions, I won't celebrate her passing.

I thought she should have retired about a year ago, and certainly after news not that long ago that she was literally participating in the judicial process from her hospital bed.

Anyways, Trump has more than 6 weeks. Even if he loses the election, he's still President until January 20th. That means he has 4 months, not 6 weeks.

VERY interesting scenario is if he waits until after the election, then loses to Biden, then decides to end his Presidency not by refusing to leave, but rather by nominating a conservative during his lame duck weeks. Talk about ending your Presidency with a bang.

RIP. safe journey to the other side. She was gracious and intelligent. As for when the new justice will be nominated. I would bet it will happen next week and a quick hearing to confirm before the election. Should the process wait? Not at all. The business of the country needs to go on.

Agreed bmw. She had no business being on the bench, but she hung in there for the cause... and while I am opposed to her cause, I give her and her handlers credit for keeping her propped up long enough to delay another Trump SCOTUS nomination.

Of course, it is only a temporary delay.

McConnell has announced he will offer Trump's nominee a senate floor vote.

The million dollar question is, are there enough wishy-washy Republicans to block it?

Politically I think it is a mistake to offer a floor vote so soon. They always have the backup option, if they lose the election, of doing it between Nov 4 and Jan 20.

He could at least wait until the coroner's printer ink dries. My gosh, what a prick.

The right needs to stop worry about what’s between people’s legs. Instead, they should focus on what’s between their ears.

Amy Coney Barrett, come-on down!

To preempt all the lefty whining, you had a lame duck President and didn't have control of the Senate. Save your whining...
No. We have to wait and see who wins the election. Now is not the time to be making any rash changes to the court until the voters weigh in.

Bunch of Machiavellian fucks... Republicans will literally stop at nothing as long as the ends justify the means. At a certain point this will come back to bite you.
Its not the same, not even close. I've advocated for waiting until Trump wins, but who knows what they'll do? If I was a betting man, I'd bet on an Amy Coney Barrett nomination next week. Are the dems going to fight against a woman? That would be soooooo sexist, right?
What exactly is so different?
